I have sadly lost a few of my elderly patients and I know most of the local homes are running with vacancies.
There has been a paper from NHS England and PHE highlighting that some of these beds in local care homes are to be used for people ready to be discharged from hospital who are still positive and will basically go from there into the home for convalescing (for want of a better word),
I know some local homes are freaked out about taking these patients

to the best of your knowledge, how many deaths where you work have been outside the high risk groups?

596 today. Sign that the worst is over?
Slowing down and levelling as the measures cut in maybe.
Another factor could be the Darwinian culling of the most vulnerable has happened at the initial period.
As others have stated the figures are rough guides and susceptible to manipulation and large error factors.

My wife tells me that couples are queuing individually to get in supermakets(sometimes family) to get around single person rules.
Abandoning trollies once inside and meeting up!
Seriously how thick and stupid are some people?

this is the figure to keep your eye on.

This is skewed though by the fact we’re doing twice as many tests so picking up more cases. We don’t have the faintest idea how many cases there are and it seems a pointless figure. The hospital admissions is the only one I have any confidence in and that is or at least was trending down.

Though you do have to take into account that more tests are being done. Read something last week about Italy and the figures rising but a lot lower down in the story it explained that testing had increased from 25k to 60k over the previous 2 or 3 days.

Any one seen the preposed traffic light system to get back to normality.....Sports stadiums by June 15th....Obviously that could change but its no mans land for Football.

Death figures are based on the day the death is reported, not the day they actually died. Less people work on weekends so some weekend deaths won't actually be recorded until Monday, so weekend death numbers tend to be lower than weekday ones.

My wife had a similar experience. A mum and her late teens daughter queuing together. Got to the front and were told they could only shop one per family, they replied we are shopping for more than one family. The bloke said you still can’t go in together. The daughter stepped back getting into my wife’s personal space. They went in with two trolleys (the daughter went to fetch one when the guy asked about it in the queue). Once in the store she ditched the trolley and walked round with her mum.

Braintree is full of thick ****s though so it’s not surprising.

I saw that, where did that originate from? I’m very sceptical that they can even consider putting dates on things like that. They won’t even put a date on schools going back.

Don't want to be argumentative and maybe I'm thick but I don't understand why a couple from the same household can't shop together ? In fact our local supermarket has sacked the idea anyway so it doesn't matter. It's one way traffic and everyone obeys the the 2 metre rule. We obeyed the rules when it was one at a time I just couldn't quite get my head round why.

I would have thought the risks of spreading the virus were obvious.

FWIW,our local supermarkets ( 2/3 we regularly use) rigourously enforce the one shopper for the whole family rule.

The rules have always been if you can stay at home then you should! If you start slacking on the rules and guidelines people will take the **** further.

My question would be why a couple from the same household find it necessary that they shop together, make a larger cluster area together, walk around a shop isn't a form of exercise? Most shop aisles aren't 2 meters or much wider and not everyone goes one way so why?
Also surely one person can get several shopping lists if they are doing others tasks?

Allegedly what has been discussed by those in charge. Dates are obviously likely to change depending on corona cases. Phased opening seems obvious to me. Hairdressers, small shops and nurseries first. Schools are down for second phase along with restricted numbers in restaurants. 3rd phase would be pubs, cinema and sport.......If numbers go up then obviously we wont get to phase 3.

We wont be waiting for a zero death rate because the economy needs to start again.

Edit...Not my opinion just repeating whats been claimed.
