SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher labelled it job done for the Shrimpers at Brentwood Town.
A second half-trick from Bim Pepple helped secure Blues a 5-3 win in the third round of the FA Trophy.
And Maher stressed making it through was all that mattered, especially after going behind early on.
"The objective coming here was to get the job done and that's the pleasing part,” said Maher.
“It could've been difficult going behind after a set piece which was disappointing.
“It could've been difficult with the wind and the conditions as well but we managed the game ever so well.
“We got our goals when we needed and it's job done really."
Pepple was joined on the score-sheet by Cav Miley and Josh Walker.
And Maher was pleased with several aspects of the second half.
"I'm really pleased in the second half with how we managed the game, Bim to get his goals, Windy (George Wind) to get 90 and for Keenan (Appiah-Forson) to play a lot of minutes,” said the Blues boss.
“Noor (Husin) is on his way back and Cav (Miley) is too so it makes us stronger.”
Miley also contributed his first goal of the season.
And Maher is now hoping the midfielder will be able to kick-start his campaign.
“It's been difficult for him in terms of minutes and he was just getting up to speed before getting the red card at Woking,” said Maher.
“I wanted to get him going and it's important we did that with a few of them today.
“You could the lads were maybe a little bit rusty to begin with but once we got going our rhythm was a lot better.
"It could've been a very difficult, horrible day with the rain and the wind in particular but we've got through so it's a decent day in the end."
However, Maher was frustrated by the manner of the goals given away.
"That's something we'll go through and pick the bones out of,” said the Blues boss.
"They're too soft and shouldn't happen.”
