Being a fat git I don't really have the choice that'll I'd like. Just spent £50 on two work shirts that are to be honest as good as what you would find in primark!

So most of my clothes I mail order from the states, which means i get to have levis and ralph lauren jeans etc. Happy to pay the premium because for a lard **** like myself the cut is more comfort than the cheaper fat boy clothes off ebay.

I tip my hat to Life & Limb for actually going up to my size in this country! I suppose I have 2 options slim down or move to the states.

Would recommed Sport and Rock or sometihng like that right by momumet station. They filmed me running and then gave a computer print out thing.

Compare this to Mrs DtS who went to the jog shop in Brighton for an assesement. We turned up and found and old man in tight jogging bottoms who made the Mrs run about his shop before recommending the most expensive pair.....

The adidas shop in Oxford Street will do all that, and then produce a made to measure pair in about three weeks as designed by you on the computer. Just waiting for my latest pair.

I've bought alot of stuff from Louis Vuitton, their stuff just does'nt wear out no matter how much you use them.

Understatement is the way forward with labels, and the cut of a garment is crucial.

Try to get to Florida or similar and go to their outlet shops. In December I got about £1,000 of Ralph Lauren stuff for about £250, took it to the till and they just kept taking more money off, so good kit, no problem on sizes for very cheap prices.

And I would like to add that the Royal Mail (Kev!) lost a Burberry Prorsum silk sweater.

*****.

They had it to post through the letter box, but it wouldn't fit and they left a letter saying to pick it up at the sorting office, so I went along 2 days later and no sign of it. They can't give me an explaination of what happened to it.

You mean they can't tell you which one of them nicked it...

I personally think wearing a nice bit of designer gear shows a little bit of status and maketh the man.

I know I am going to sound like a right tit here but I love the feeling that wearing a nice bit of clobber gives me.Yes its over priced and yes you pay for the name but so what I enjoy it.

I am not talking about having massive logos everywhere as that is crap but a nice suttle badge here and there is fantastic. Often people wont even know what you wearing unless they too are into designer gear.

The other day I was on the train going to Southend and bloke stood next to me and had such a superb jumper on. Its Paul & Shark if you know what your looking for and he won my instant respect.

Yes you can get clothes for a lot less but why bother. I can buy food a lot cheaper than Sainsburys but its taste like ****. I can buy a cheaper car than I do but I dont want too. Why compamise on your clothes.

How you present yourself says a lot about you. Same in business. Nice suit, cufflinks and smart shoes always gives you the edge.

Could not agree more with you. I will probably get shot down for this but I will only buy Armani jeans. I know you can get them in Next etc for £40 but I have about 5 pairs and all of them are top drawer and you never lose the fit etc - well worth the investment.

Lyle & Scott, Reiss, Armani, J Lindenberg, Paul Smith - all brands of tops I purchase/wear.

TM Lewin shirts/ties for work.

I manufacture a great deal of clothing in China, India and Turkey for corporate clients and a lot of what we produce come out of the same factory's that the top labels use. So i know the true cost of a Polo if its bought in ASDA or Armani!!!

Guess what i still pay £100 for a shirt, because as Dave said it gives you a nice feeling.

So true Andy.In Germany most of the Boss,Armani etc come off the same line, they just change badges.

I like my clothes to be minimalistic and without logos and there is a big difference between a £5 primark polo and a £50 Fred Perry polo, the fabric is better, it'll last you longer and the cut is so much better, making you look better, more flattering.

So Martin if you like your clothes to be minimalistic & without logos can you please explain that f#ckin rocks t-shirt your wore to mr b's doo last year?

Hardly fits into either catagory does it now :p

Having shed a bit of weight lately I had to re-stock my entire wardrobe. Now being fussy but not "cutting edge" I found Vintage clothes shops and Charity emporiums particulary useful when having to get something I liked and reasonably priced.
Picked up some amazing gear , which you couldn't tell was not new, for silly Prices, takes a bit of hunting but is stupidly fulfilling (?)
I do have preferences, Levi jeans and Jackets, Fred Perry and Ben Sherman for T shirts and Shirts.

Work wise, I always pick up my suits in Debenhams sales, 250-300 quid suits can be got for half price and even less. With work suits the cheap options really are false economy (baron jon I mean you !) they hardly last a week !
