Branded clothes

Are you a clothes ponce or am I missing something here?

i think its worth distinguishing between overpriced "brands" such as armani and boss (which really are the same crap that i imagine you get in next) from decent clothing. To be honest I bought a pair of Boss shoes - never again, they were on a par with what I imagine Clarks to be like. My boss suit also bobbled after about 6 months.

Think there should be an approved list of clothes, feel free to add:

Suits:
Chester Barrie
gieves & Hawkes
Oswald Boateng

Shirts: Any Jermyn Street brand other than Hawkes and Curtis

Casual:
Paul and shark
CP Company (not stone island, espescially not stone island denims)
maharishi
6876
Fjallraven
John Smedley
Earl Jeans
Diesel (jeans only)

I once paid 535 quid for a jacket, 110 for a shirt, 150 for a jumper and about 90 quid for jeans.. all pukka clobber though

Surely the ulitmate in designer labels is if you design your own label.
Most embroidery firms would set this up for about 20 quid and embroider your garments for a couple of quid each so you buy plain stuff, decent quality of course, then get yer own logo embroidered on it, thereby being totally unique.

Would this be considered trend setting or total rubbish?

So Martin if you like your clothes to be minimalistic & without logos can you please explain that f#ckin rocks t-shirt your wore to mr b's doo last year?

Hardly fits into either catagory does it now :p
And how about the fluorescent yellow shirt with scribbles all over it?

Maybe not logos, but certainly not minimalistic either ! :D

Go to an affluemt area like Berkhamsted and look in the charity shops. Top price clobber for £5!

wilmot you appear clued up, care to add any more approved brands?

nothing out the ordinary my friend it's more about the look than the brand imo, just cos somethings got a badge on the arm and cost £500 from woodhouse don't mean it's any good does it ? Certain labels are untouchable for particular items though, for example if your after a coat then stone island still make the best style ones ( big necks and hoods ) despite all the moody rubbish worn by the divvs, one true saxon barbour and fjallraven are also cool as without being to lumpy on the pocket, my personal favourite at the mo is as cs j said the norrona arktis which i have in brilliant white - it's a proper casuals jacket - have a look on www.tamarackoutdoors.co.uk for some decent outdoor wear at the cheapest prices.

As for lighter jackets the 6876 capandula is the one imo.

With a decent pair of dark jeans or cords and a pair of adidas you can't but in a sport shop in town....now that's the look for me

VICTORINOX
CP
80S CASUALS
MARKS & SPENCERS (cargo shorts and cords )
6876
FJALL
OSTI
LACOSTE
P&S
NORRONA
BARBOUR

not a fan of one true saxon, i've heard you can buy it in the littelwoods catalogue !

I would add fahri to the list, normally comes up top notch (although the plain t-shirts are a bit ropey, one occassion where i prefer boss)

I think Barbour are a bit old hat nowadays......

As covered before a small subtle label will always win the day in my book. Hence Paul & Shark - Always made superbly and smart as you like and yet not over powering with the labels.....
