Branded clothes

Are you a clothes ponce or am I missing something here?

For me i'm not really that bothered i'll where what I like if I can afford it.

For example I bought a jacket from Republic for £25. Which for a jacket is ok I suppose and Republic, whilst being good quality, is not really defined as 'designer clothes'.

Then again some of the time i'll just wear Primark clothes etc.

When i'm just around the house I usually stick to a white primark shirt (£5 for 3 of them!) and a pair of Umbro tracky's. Comfort all the way.

In contrast my brother is so image concious. He always has to have the latest clothes, most popular and expensive brand. He's honestly like a woman the amount of time he takes to get ready! Nothing isn't thought about.

He really is going to need to be rich when he gets older to sustain his fashion!

If you shop at Army and Navy you can afford to wear labels every day however the range is a little limited.

I have a couple of great Dutch Commando outfits and tomorrow I will probably wear a Soviet artic warfare outfit similar to the one worn by the Owl man.

I will admit that I am often turned away at the door when trying to get into nightclubs/wine bars etc.

My enthusiasm for buying clothes is so limited that it's often Mrs Slipperduke who does the shopping on my behalf. I have but one instruction; if it's got a name on it, it's going back.

If I wanted to look like a billboard, I'd get some stilts and spend my days standing next to busy roads. I'm not doing someone else's advertising for them.

£115 for a pair of jeans.

I am seriously lost for words. I doubt I spend £115 a year!

Agreed. I would never pay that for jeans. If I visit my aunt in The States I usually buy a couple of pairs of 501s, and if she visits I usually get her to bring over a pair or two.

$40 for a pair of 501s. Lubbly Jubbly!

Bit of both for me, I like a bargain from Sports World or Burtons but also like a fair amount of Boss.

Each to their own, I'd spend £50 on a PS3 game which my Mrs thinks is sad, but she'll spend £400 on a handbag which I see as bloody insane.

I personally think wearing a nice bit of designer gear shows a little bit of status and maketh the man.

I know I am going to sound like a right tit here but I love the feeling that wearing a nice bit of clobber gives me.Yes its over priced and yes you pay for the name but so what I enjoy it.

I am not talking about having massive logos everywhere as that is crap but a nice suttle badge here and there is fantastic. Often people wont even know what you wearing unless they too are into designer gear.

The other day I was on the train going to Southend and bloke stood next to me and had such a superb jumper on. Its Paul & Shark if you know what your looking for and he won my instant respect.

Yes you can get clothes for a lot less but why bother. I can buy food a lot cheaper than Sainsburys but its taste like ****. I can buy a cheaper car than I do but I dont want too. Why compamise on your clothes.

How you present yourself says a lot about you. Same in business. Nice suit, cufflinks and smart shoes always gives you the edge.

Because the clothes are exactly the same quality, but having a name on them that some fashion magazine has decreed is "cool" sticks another £100 on the price label.

I'm not that into fashion really, but don't mind paying a bit extra for something designer if it's nice. I often find that the designer's i buy from are often high quality clothes and last a lot longer than a T Shirt from Primark or something similar where the detail washes off after 3 washes.

I've got a lot of Paul & Shark, Superdry, Lyle&Scott, SoulCal... that kind of gear, Do some shopping in All Saints too. Jeans is something different though, as I really don't mind paying that much more for a pair of jeans if they're nice and are going to last me a bit.

If i'm in the house though, not intending to go out I will just sit around in a pair of Basketball shors and a hoody or shirt.

In two minds whether or not my £200 Louis Vuitton washbag (a present from the Mrs for my last birthday pre-fatherhood) will accompany me now down to Liverpool, don't want Mr "NoLogo" here making a statement in the night!

£200 to put some showergel and shampoo in? And I thought Pubey's £115 jeans were over the top!
