Do you not like him? Because you've never mentioned it.

His on pitch character seems ok. Off pitch he is part of the ever growing army of scumbags in this country that are helping in part to destroy it. I mean, hitting a woman and probably fraudulent extorting money out of a vulnerable person. And that's what we know about. He's garbage. Out with the trash.

It might be worth waiting for the result of the Court case before deciding he's guilty. Nile definitely has a bad boy history, but maybe he has now turned a corner and is trying to clean up his act?

I don't condone any of his actions but he is trying to get on the straight and narrow. His crimes are disgusting but they're far less of a crime than what some other players have done.

This is a difficult one.
Obviously his documented past would indicate that he is not the nicest of people.
Also , whilst we should wait for the verdict , I guess the prosecution feel they have a good case.
These factors are rightly negative.
I do however follow the view that people do 'grow up' and 'do change'.
Seen it happen so many times with friends , and can even say personally that there are things I've done in early life that I would not find acceptable now.
People will have their own opinions and we each need to decide where we stand on this.
For what it's worth , mine is that we should support the guy and give him one more chance.
My only concern though ( and maybe I'm also taking this into account ) is that those of us who want him found 'not guilty' and then moving on , are doing so because he is a good player , helping to make our side successful.
Ask yourselves whether your views would be as lenient with say Bedsente Gomes ?

Lack of attention to detail and also poor quality has blighted the club in it's published statements for some while. If you're happy with that, fine ! It must be good to have low standards, you will rarely be disappointed.

(I was wondering if your misspelling of legal was deliberate or not, I'm going for not.)

Unfortunately you rather ruin your point with at least two grammatical errors in the first line above.....

I spotted the it's.Perhaps you could give a few pointers to the others.:winking:

Of all the players to pick, why Bedsente Gomes?!!! :hilarious:

Far to many of you have read the charges and made 2+2 = 7. Nile Ranger has not been phoning up old ladies or asking for their bank details. He may well have been duped himself.

Yes I do know people in the police and our club but don't bother asking how I know because I obviously won't say.

You will just have to wait for the trial, which being a fraud case will take a lot longer than we are expecting. He certainly could be kicking off next season before it comes to trial.

My own mother who has dementia and my step-dad have been targeted twice in the last 18 months by these sort of scams. Luckily they have been well educated by the family and have not become victims. So I am not blindly supporting Ranger because he plays for Southend. In fact if we found out Nile Ranger had stole from our parents then me and my step brothers would make sure Nile never played again.

Fair enough you don't have to take my word for it but in this case I will be giving Nile my full support. Up to you lot to decide whether to do the same.

You could make a case for have instead of has and even that some while could be one word. However this is marginal.
The difference is this is just chat on an internet forum, not my statement to the world about something important.

Any chance people can discuss the topic and not each other's grandma grammar please. Not that its boring listening to petty squabbling or anything.

"Oh, uh, hand me the black cap. I'll be needing that!" :winking:

Brown: "We didn't know about this. It was kept in house by Nile and his representatives."

Brown:"Body language will be important in making my mind up and I'll be seeing how Nile is in training and how he interacts with the group."

Brown: "I had a half an hour chat with Nile this morning. We have to make sure his mindset is right. It's a big decision for me."

It will be very interesting to know when the police first made Ranger aware that they were investigating him for the alleged offence. Was it prior or after he signed his extended contract????

Failure by Ranger and his agent/representative to inform the club which PB has stated was what happened certainly appears a foolish thing to say the least...

Brown:"Nile has to deal with this. He can't expect to just sweep it under the carpet and make it go away."

PB actually sounds like the right sort of positive influence that Ranger needs and perhaps has needed throughout.

This sounds like a case of 'tough love' from PB though I do realise that I am making assumptions in that regard.
