Post-Match Thread and Ratings AFC Fylde 2-1 Southend United

so the crowd was 1088 of which around 180-200 were from us. Think thats the smallest league crowd ive ever watched Southend play in front of. Anyone think of a smaller attendance?

A few boos last night at half time and full time. Seems to be the norm these days when we lose 45 minutes of a football match.
Also, when we equalised, one lad's immediate reaction was to start kicking in one of Fylde's advertising hoardings. Where do we find these people? Take up boxing or something - let the anger out!
They won’t take up boxing or anything that encourages physicality from someone else. They’re happy to take their anger out on inanimate objects that won’t hit back. Bell ends everywhere unfortunately.

Tough watch that last night, at least first half anyway.

Midfield and strikers were killing us in that first half. Defenders were getting the ball and hardly had anyone making moves in front of them. The only options they had were sideways or back to Collin. If Collin went long then we didn’t have the personnel to make it stick and it would come straight back. When times are tough then having the ball stick up top is pivotal in my opinion and we just can’t do that at the moment.

Whilst the second half was better it was hardly inspiring. We have huffed and puffed but this is clearly a side that is lacking in confidence. Everything is so slow. Far too many touches on the ball being taken and it just allows the other team to sit in a make it even more difficult.

Subs weren’t the best last night either. Don’t rate the Luton striker at all but appreciate we have no one else at the moment. Taking Morton off opened the game up and it was a little bit end to end after that. Hard to make an impact off the bench sometimes but have genuinely seen zero in KAF so far. Hope that changes soon.

It was a night of little to no positives in all honesty but I’ll try. It doesn’t look like a side that’s thrown the towel in to me, they just look shot to pieces and need rejuvenating. Another goal for GSM, we’ll get a nice fee for him in January. I actually thought Ralph had an okay game.

Lots to ponder for the management in the coming games.

No one deserves to be abused at work (not even traffic wardens)

If a private sector worker (and these are private sector workers!) was underperforming no company would accept abuse of their employees by their customers. Underperforming employees are dealt with by the mgmt, in our case Kev and co, not customers.
Got to disagree on the traffic wardens though.
