You say that he'd favour us but he may just favour playing for the manager that he flourished under. Additionally, Oxford's facilities are far more appealing than ours.

I really, really do hope that I'm wrong though!

According to Sheffield fans on their forum with the signing of Woodburn today it looks like Ricky will be leaving Bramall Lane (but maybe only on loan). Quite a lot of Oxford fans are saying he'll have signed for them by the end of the week.

Quite agree. Maybe he holds a grudge because we weren't interested when he basically made a come and get me plea when he was on a free transfer a few years ago? We need to be making a move for him for it to be his choice to start with.

Well if the rumours are true that he met up with and spoke to SCP about a move here and he still chose to go to Oxford hopefully that puts to bed any talk EVER again about him playing for us (especially as he's a local lad and supposedly supports us).

Keep in mind with Holmes he's 31, unlike kids that get sent out on loan I doubt Sheffield Untied will have done this for nothing, Oxford are likely paying a significant amount of his salary. For all we know Holmes was more than happy to come to us instead but Powell felt that the percentage of the wages Sheffield Untied wanted us to cover wasn't worth it.
