Any updates on when the next arrival will happen? I’m guessing the midfielder mentioned by Chris Phillips is next, possibly today?

We paid £500k- £1m for Manotom and Barratt wow- the Magic Money Tree really is doing the rounds :-)

Normally a fee is undisclosed because one party would rather it not be known- normally when it would appear that one party is having it over the other (i.e. very much lower or higher than would be expected- normally the former).

Read post 1454 and stop being so pedantic. Ive explained that it was a lack of clarity in my initial post.

Maybe it was £400k but its not confirmed so maybe its more of less, I suspect a bit less for the reasons give. But if its not worked out the chances are he will be a target for L1 clubs- finding one to pay a fee anything like that would be difficult unless one of the big clubs. So £100k and him off the wage bill maybe the best they can hope for.

In Knightly's case we overcome the wages so maybe we could here- the fee another issue all together but that can also be "undisclosed" of course to save face

Worth remembering that he was 30 at the time and given their efforts to cut the wage bill they might have taken a cut price deal as he was on huge wages.

CP is obviously better at keeping things quiet unlike PB. He always announced who he was after and we normally ended up missing out.

We are set to sign Timotheee Dieng according to CP! He’s 6ft 3, certainly fits the “physical midfielder” we’ve been chasing.

I can’t see him starting ahead of Mantom/Yearwood but he’ll certainly play a part when we need someone to be a rock in the middle.

Central midfield enforcers are prone to injury and suspension so it's good to get another experienced head in the building after we have lost Timlin, Wright and Wordsworth (and Lenny) from that position and only brought in Mantom so far.

So, 5 signings in the bag and a striker and speedy winger still to go. We’ve not had any hints on those (other than my punt on Holmes)... does anyone have any suggestions?

By the way I’ve also not seen any evidence of Anton making progress securing a move. He’s clearly not going to be involved this year so I hope he does secure a move, otherwise he’ll just run down his contract with us and retire which wouldn’t be great for him or us

Just read Chris Phillips' tweet that this day last year, PB made his first signing of the summer. Christ Powell has now made his fifth.

Sums up PB's last season in a nutshell really.

Swindon seem to be struggling to sign players - only McGlashan so far. They do have 4 triallists playing in a friendly that Brown will ‘run the rule over and decide their fate’ after. One of them he doesn’t even know but the guy had his own boots so he’s in with a shout. Oh and they’ve just announced a pre-season trip to Spain.

Sounds eerily familiar!
