Yep according to Chris Phillips, we are still looking for another winger and a forward.

Dieng played 70 odd times for Bradford over the last 2 years and has played in the French League 1 for Brest (debut verses PSG in Jan 2013). I suspect he thinks SCP will need to be deciding who plays alongside him!

Very good competition between three strong players- but often one will be injured or carrying a knock as they all put themselves about- quite possible they will all end up having 30+ starts each..

Just read Chris Phillips' tweet that this day last year, PB made his first signing of the summer. Christ Powell has now made his fifth.

Sums up PB's last season in a nutshell really.

I’m normally first to jump on the bang wagon of PB bashing but can’t here. This season can not be compared to last with the transfer window shutting earlier of course we are going to get the signings in earlier.

I’m amazed a club hasn’t snapped up Eoin Doyle, he did wonders at Oldham in a relegation season.

Would 100% take him here and wonder if the loss of Taylor and Vassel will put him higher on SCP radar?

A quick google only links him with Scunthorpe and that’s a, “why he would be a good signing” article...

I'm surprised he went to Rotherham, he ain't championship level so money must of been to good to turn down.

He was on loan at Oldham from Preston. He also did well at Chesterfield 2013/15 scoring 32 goals in 69 games. Would be great if he is available and we could get him.

From what I have seen of Doyle, he is not in the same mold as Vassell or Taylor. Not a big bustling striker but decent height and extremely mobile, a sniffer out of chances around the box. Have we got that sort of striker already? Probably we have so I do wonder whether CP would want him. And would cost a sizeable fee if in contract. But great goal-scoring record.

The Football Egg preview was pretty impressive until it came to the sentence "Much is expected of Dru Yearwood and Michael Klass in midfield, and both are more than adequate replacements should anything happen to Dieng and Mantom"

If SCP took a view on him based on his performance against us at Boundary Park when he missed at least 3 nailed on ones my Nan would have scored, he probably isn't interested...

Yeah, but Mr Egg doesn't pick the team. As you say though, it seems we are rated this season.

I’m liking this new “let’s get our business done early doors” mindset. It’s strange being so positive at the beginning of July! Anybody got a clue who it could be? I’m guessing it’s going to be either a winger or striker.

CP isn't sure himself but his educated guess is Luke Hyam according to Twitter. If so that would gives us some cracking CM options for this level - Yearwood, Mantom, Dieng and Hyam.
