Dujon Sterling primarily a right-back but can also play as a winger, wing-back or in midfield gone to Coventry on loan from Chelsea, Only 18 I hear you say, but he has played for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, definately got some quality about him when I've seen him play on the box, another 1 of their youths Reece James gone to Wigan on loan, both these lads would not have been out of place here. Hope Mr powell can get in and get 1 of there other gems before its too late.

I saw that, but I doubt it. He’s 31 and a winger. Doesn’t sound quite like SCP’s type (age) or what Chris Philips described (centre mid). He may be great though and if he actually does join us then great. SCP would know far more about him and what we need than me

CP saying we are also after a winger. 3 signings left a winger a CM and a striker.

Also saying the CM is due to sign by the end of the week.

CP on Twitter has said that we expect to have another midfielder signed by the end of this week AND we are still hoping to sign a speedy winger and another striker... oh what a time to be a Blue!

Ricky Holmes, Timothee Dieng and Mohamed Eisa. Thank you very much, goodnight Vienna to the rest of the league one chavs as we storm to the title

What's this about Holmes? He only went to Sheffield during last season.

He’s not pulled up any trees it seems. Might not be his fault, the Blades manager signed everyone with two legs who did anything in League One the first half of last season during the transfer window (well, midfielders anyway). It seems he might be available.

Undisclosed fee- so how much I am not sure is known
Wages will be an issue- but similar situation as with Kightly I suppose

I’d expect an undisclosed fee to be around £500k to £1m. Charlton wouldn’t have ditched their best player during a play off push for a can of Stella.

Really? We’ve paid many undisclosed fees and I’d bet none of them were that much!

Sorry. I meant an undisclosed fee for Ricky Holmes, not just a generic ‘undisclosed fee’. Pretty much all our transfers in or out are undisclosed fees, some of which are peanuts but those sold to higher divisions are obviously much more.

I’ve just done a google search and the fee was believed to be around £400k for Holmes

His stats for last season make depessing reading, only 10 goals and 2 assists is simply not good enough. The change of manager arguably saw his productivity drop with only 3 goals in those18 games.Despite his mediocre career record I get the impression he thinks he is some kind of big shot and that is not the kind of player we need nor what Powell wants I would have thought. A hungry young striker would be a vast improvement. If he does re-sign it will only hold us back.

Powell conclusively thought the total opposite

Don't think a one year contract on less money vindicates that. Obviously Cox was holding out for a better deal elsewhere, didn't get one so took what was on offer. We are still after another striker by all accounts so Cox will not necessarily be an automatic starter. We will see what the new season brings.

It's a fact that Powell wanted to keep Cox. He had the perfect opportunity to get rid but didn't. You were totally wrong about Powell's opinion on Cox and it's now been proven. You clearly have a strong opinion which there's nothing wrong with although Powell doesn't agree with. :Smile2:

How do you know it was less money? The 2 assists is utter rubbish too. There were plenty of goals where Cox played the defence splitting pass to the person who then puts the cross or shot in, and the goal is scored by someone else. Cox gets nothing in terms of assists for this, yet without his input there is no goal.

Pointless stat.

Nonsense. He'll be first name on the team sheet unless we sign Harry Kane or Lionel Messi.

We paid £500k- £1m for Manotom and Barratt wow- the Magic Money Tree really is doing the rounds :-)

Normally a fee is undisclosed because one party would rather it not be known- normally when it would appear that one party is having it over the other (i.e. very much lower or higher than would be expected- normally the former).
