It's anyone with OX in their name...

Cox is still in Dubai, isn't he? Probably won't be hearing anything from him yet.

Oxley would be brilliant.

I saw that. it's a Long drop from playing for Concord Rangers when you trained at West Ham & Chelsea & once played for the England U16's England U17's, England U20's ....not to mention Sunderland, Bradford, Gillingham etc.

Good luck to him though.

Our old friend Billy Knott signed for...Concord?!

Sounds very much like a favour from the chairman. Reading on their site says he's known the Knott family for over 30 years and their family have been instrumentally involved with Concord over the years (Billys dad had a spell as manager, his mum was club secretary).

Interesting the chairman says he's basically paying back that favour and is invested in helping Billy "...on and off the pitch and back into the football league..." so there's obviously some behind the scenes stuff going on.

25 though... what a waste!

Think I recall reading a few weeks ago that he’d been suffering with depression and alcoholism and had fallen out of touch with his family and is now rebuilding that relationship and trying to get his career back on track.

Having been released from Lincoln in League Two, dropping to National League South but being close to family while he recovers may be a better move for him than National League, sure he would have had offers based purely on his quality.

Yes that's the case https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/not-how-wanted-end-billy-1594185

My partner used to work for Concord's chairman's firm. Quite a few of their players also get jobs at his company, earning quite a good living. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case and why he's agreed to sign with them.

There was once a Sammy Knott who played for them.

has anyone else got any more information on the history of Concord Rangers that I could tap into please? This dull thread on who we possibly can and cant sign has quickly captured mine and many mores imagination delving closer into the Knott family and their involvement in Concord Rangers over the years. This would make some film, I just hope someone has the bottle to write it....

Could be nothing, but Sam Mantom's started following Dru, John White, Oxley and the club on twitter. As well as one of the Bluebelles.
