Not surprised this is big news in the South West. Southend are the biggest club in League One and we are bigger than many sides in the Championship. Even Bournemouth and Burnley in the premier league are jealous of our fan base and corrugated iron barrel stands. As such, I expect us to sign this bloke easily.

Its a long way up North from Plymouth and no palm trees so I dont think theres any possibility either that he would contemplate playing in the Scottish Premiership, linking up with Gerrard, and maybe playing in Europe whilst collecting a much larger pay packet, when the Essex riviera awaits

Southend are in talks with Turner for another year contract, and I'm told he likes it very much at Southend. I think so many posters linking every out of contract player to Swindon is getting silly now. I suppose eventually someone might get it right.
