Eisa is reportedly attracting interest from the Championship, so likely out of our league so to speak.

I'd really like to see us go for CB Giancarlo Gallifuoco from Dover. Saw him twice last season and was very impressed. Out of contract and attracting interest from League 1 and 2 I believe.

Hyam's a combative midfielder but has had a lot of problems with injuries last couple of years. Lots of Championship experience. Loves a booking.

Given SCP likes to play with two wide players two high energy CM need to be playing as we will often be up against a midfield 3. So don't expect us to be after too many "playmakers"

Combative CM pick up more injuries than those who don't get their shorts dirty I imagine.

Does anyone know if we are/were in for Granty? Hyam sounds like a good signing on paper, but his injury record is a little worrying and last season really highlighted the need to get players in who you can get a full season out of. We let Woody go because of his injury problems and then go in for another very injury prone midfielder which doesn’t make much sense.

Grant would be my number one realistic choice (assume Lenny isn’t coming back!) to line up next to Dru next season. It would allow Dru to push forward and would give us such a strong and well balanced midfield. He’s available, I assume he’s not on mega bucks, the fans still hold him in high regard, he’s in good shape and can play game after game.

It would be a real decent signing and exactly what we need.

I second that. Granty would be a great addition

Not a good enough player. I live in Ipswich and Town were chuffed to get shot of him. Dreadful fitness record to boot.

Not what my Ipswich-supporting mate told me. Said he’d be a cracking signing if fit. Was apparently the right time for him to leave but was always solid at Championship level so should do a good job in League 1.

So, we can't even compete with Ebbsfleet now?!

:winking:
Perhaps its not a mattter of not being able to compete with Ebbsfleet, just that maybe he dosent have enough confidence in himself or his ability to play in league 1, so opted for a division he believes its all hes good enough for .

Yeah we have no idea if this was a player we were even looking at. But I suspect if we compete with a National League club for a player the decision would come down to money vs first team football for the player.

Any player that League One clubs are interested in from that league would be a key player at that level. So the player just needs to decide whether they’d rather take the chance at being a squad player on bigger wages in League One or be the main man for their side at the lower level. Some players, especially the young ones, will back themselves to improve and hope to force their way into the League side but others might just want to start every week.

Perhaps he will end up with as much game time as our Norman. Only time will tell.

And today we're mostly interested in Sonny Bradley (Along with Barnsley, Bolton, Charlton, Luton, Hearts and Rangers). He's a centre back out of contract at Plymouth which suggests that Turner may not be signing? Anyway, I'm not getting too excited in case one of those other no marks interested get there first. (Souce CP from the Echo ).

He's also been offered a new improved contract by Plymouth. So I will be amazed if we can offer more than all those clubs.

Someone we were reportedly interested in before. Would be a terrific signing if we could pull that one off.
