Right, he went back to Spurs. It wouldn't surprise me if CP looked to get him back on loan again. He appeared to rate the bloke.
 
Vassell is 25, Hopper 24. Both primed for breakout seasons and approaching the age where we should expect their most prolific campaigns.

Not sure Hopper will pass Ron’s extensive DD tests though and he just missed CP at Leicester by a season.
 
Quite happy we are linked with Vassell. Always looks a threat when I've seen him play and I believe he scored a well taken goal against us at the Hall last season. Coming into his peak and averages better than a goal every 3 games. Could be a good signing especially on a free transfer.
 
Refreshing to not be linked only to old players who are dropping down the leagues.

SCP stated he wanted hungry players who want to play in the Championship and so far Sam Mantom, Tom Hopper, Kyle Vassell and Lyle Taylor fit this mould. All of them are yet to hit their prime and have good league 1 experience!

Now, just the matter of signing them up ...

Mantom seemed a little injury prone, came to use to get fit, started off injured and ended up injured at the end. No doubts about ability though.

Vassell is a name I’ve heard without really knowing much about him.

This story about Hopper puts me off him, do we want a player with history like this when it all went so wrong before with Ranger.

He did indeed end up getting fit with us and was very pleased with the treatment he received by all the staff at Southend.
He ended up injured in the last game due to the bad tackle by the Bristol Rovers player, the result of which was a very bad cut on his leg. So that injury was nothing to do with being 'injury prone'.
 
I would like to think if we are naming these that deals are almost done...perhaps explains the sudden u turn with Timlin and Cox being offered a take it or leave it deal ? (The cox bit is just an assumption)

An a bit confused- Vassell was first reported on twitter and CP filled up? Potter the same? Man tom hardly a surprise and again well trailed- I see nothing different? Every year CP runs stories around who we are in for- most don't happen, not because the report is wrong but others win the race?
Can someone explain why this year is different in some way?
