He has done well at this level before. Not a bad shout. Ranger out for 4-6 weeks minimum, we need to get bodies in. Simpson on 8k a week was never likely to happen.

Theory Robinson has plenty of league experience and some at a higher level. Never been prolific though and I would imagine that any pace he used to have has probably dried up.

Seems we are struggling big time and scraping the barrel

Actually looking at his age and league scoring record I think I was being harsh on him.

He could be a good 3rd or 4th choice striker.

Plenty of championship and league 1 goals

I think he could still do a job and perhaps a 6 month deal with options to extend could work for both parties?

I agree with that and especially the shorter contract Im not sure if Theo is past his best. Never a prolific goalscorer with a career ratio of 1 in 5 games, he did have that pace about him in the past. I notice that over the past 2 seasons has only made an average of 16 game outings, close to one in 3, which may suggest injury issues. The goal ratio also dropped to 1 in 6 during this spell. However he has has over 300 games to his credit , so is pretty experienced upfront and maybe would act more as an assist foil to Cox. Would Payne and Robinson be an improvement on the squad? or desperate measures.

I hope our aspirations in the next 12 days are higher than the new Jack Payne and Theo. Need to bring in at least 4 more and if we got close to matching Orients evaluation of Simpson, Ron is clearly prepared to release some of the cash pot. I assume we have the Hayden and Payne money, which even if I was thinking modestly about it should be worth at least £500k ? Waiting for that hallmark centre half signing?

I saw Theo play for Scunny at Notts County last year. He looked like a decent lower league forward to be fair. He's still quick and is pretty strong, decent movement off the ball. He scored that day too.

If we are looking at Theo, surely that implies the Simpson deal is off. Theo is not a bad choice in my opinion. Don't forget out marquee signing was Cox, anything else is a bonus.

In fact we could probably sign both akinola at braintree who plays predominantly out wide and scored 10 last season and Kristian Dennis who is young and pacey and scored 22 for Macclesfield Town for a lot less than Simpson and both would do a good job.
