Labour/SNP coalition

You ask how people are intending to vote and how they voted last time and that way you can see what the likelihood is that they may be persuadable. If they want to chat you chat whatever the answer to those questions but if the intend to vote Tory and voted Tory last time then taking it further is generally a waste of their and my time. Same policy here really - if someone who doesn't intend to vote Labour is alarmed about the SNP I advise them not to waste their time as it's just 2 versions of the left wing with one distinguishable difference that has already recently come into play.

Have you ever come across the 'Come in for a cup of tea' ploy? You might want to watch out for that one, caught a good few out over the years.

He wasn't giving it the big un, he answer a question in an interview by saying you should ask for receipts when paying cash - and you should. It was a slow news day, anyone using it to score points still probably needs to prioritise.

If you think a Tory UKIP alliance is less likely does that mean you don't expect the Tories to be the biggest party? Or you think the Lib Dems can make up the numbers still? How come Labour would be desperate to form a Coalition but the Tories aren't? What is your solution - no government at all? If the is no majority part then a coalition will happen, I don't know you are so alarmed. You'll have a right wing coalition or a left wing coalition so half us us will not be pleased. How many of the left on here have expressed horror at the prospect of a coalition with SNP? None. If the other option is another Tory government then I'll take the SNP any day. All a load of crying wolf.
Not necessarily, the party with the most seats could try and run a Minority government. TBH, I wish Cameron had done that last time, and I think he might well do this time if it pans out that way, as seems likely at the moment.

Has anyone else seen Prime Ministers Questions today? Milliband has wasted his six questions by asking why Cameron wont appear on TV debates with him. It was a car crash. If that's the PM in waiting then would the last person leaving the country please turn out the lights.

In the interests of balance, Amiss has just asked a question about Southend becoming a city. That aside, am I the only one who thinks he wouldn't look out of place on the back of a woodpecker?

That was of, course, exactly the Sun's headline back in 92 against Kinnock. This election is already mirroring those classic smear tactics.

Miliband is fully entitled to ask why Cameron is clearly frit of debating with him head to head on national TV.Looks like there might ,at last,be some movement on the TV debates today.

In any case,I'm sure you noticed that Labour backbenchers had clearly been briefed to ask important questions on defence spending, etc.

I noticed that but I would have thought getting your backbenchers to ask questions they can't reply to is a waste of time. That's the Leader of the Oppositions job, which he made a complete hash of, I might add.

Labour's only policy statement appears to be "only a Labour vote will keep the Tories out".
Lib Dem's only policy statement appears to be "it wasn't us, Guv, honest".
The Tories have some policies, all pushed to the right to trump UKIP
UKIP are slowly unravelling, being exposed as headcases. They've one policy and then get confused; but will pick up the odd seat.
The SNP will make massive gains in Scotland because they are not Labour (now thoroughly vilified after they sided with the Tories on the independence vote).
The Greens are filling the gap on the left but don't have either the exposure or experience to rattle many cages.

The Tories will lose votes to UKIP, they hope the Greens have the same effect on Labour. They now realise that may not be enough, so they use a bit of internal xenophobia scare tactics. Actually, I don't think having the SNP in power would be a bad thing. They seem to have a done a decent job in Scotland (and that seems to the opinion of people who don't actually vote for them). So I am not so sure what the big scare is.

Its lining up for a horrible nasty personal campaign. Someone, Lord Baker, I suggest has even suggested a Tory / Labour alliance. If people are seriously suggesting that as a way forward, the only conclusion can be a total **** up of the British policital party system. Essentially though, the longer this campaign goes on without any real debate or exposure of policies, then the more it becomes a dumbed down personality race. No wonder people don't give a toss anymore.

Lord Football, I think you should name and shame these people. The SNP are a completely clueless bunch of xenophobes. If they come within an inch of power we're all ****ed.

Is Cameron not at fault for not answering? Is it not like a no ball situation where if he doesn't answer you get another question for free? Is it not his job to answer the questions he is asked?

It is the job and duty of the Leader of the Opposition to question the Prime Minister on matters of state and scrutinise the performance of the government wouldn't you agree? The economy, state benefits, defense, the NHS, transport and more are far more important then banging on about television debates for six questions, one question would have been to many. He made a complete fool of himself as far as I'm concerned. Even Amiss asked a more relevant question albeit it was designed more to kiss Cameron's arse than benefit Southend.

The election is a matter of national importance and if asked the PM should answer. Still at least he was there.....yes I'm talking about you George Osborne

Using that logic should miliband answer whether he intends to go into a coalition with the SNP?
What you have said defies logic. Has Cameron stated he intends to form a coalition with UKIP? Of course not. What pleases me is the insistence that Labour with SNP can form a government - I wish I was so confident that we will be rid of the Tories in two months time.

Whilst it may please you to have a party that puts its own national interest first, in government, rather than those parties that seek to represent the whole of the UK, I doubt it will please all.
You argue on the one hand that Cameron should answer questions raised at PMQ'S particularly in regard to the election (national importance etc) if you are correct then Milliband must face the same scrutiny.
If it defies logic then it is yours rather than mine that is at fault.
What we see is petty squabbling between two senior politcians, and neither of them came out of yesterday with any credit.

You do realise that yesterday was Prime Ministers Questions? It is for Camerscum to answer questions, not ask them. If you want Miliband to be held accountable that's fine, but PMQs is neither the time nor the place.

As milliband asks the questions then I believe he needs to be as accountable as Cameron both in the integrity of the question he is asking and that he is able to answer any questions asked of him either in or out of PMQ'S especially to use AAS term when they are to do with the election and of national importance.
Yesterday was like watching two bald men fight over a comb.

And if he doesn't get an answer he needs to ask it again. If the PM still doesn't answer, then he needs to ask it again. I don't really see anything wrong with that. It's been going on for years, and will continue ad nauseam.

PMQs are for the PM to be held accountable. As I said, if you want EM to be held accountable that's fine, but PMQs is neither the time nor the place.

In fact, I've got a brilliant idea. Maybe camerscum and EM should have a head to head debate...
