Mutiny would be preferable.Jump and save themselves, stay and fight for a Captain they do not believe in, or is it time for a mutiny?
I wouldn't care what Ron throws at us. We are not the owners, ultimately he has overall responsibility of the club. If he feels it's down to the fans that he can't pay bills, it questions his relationship with the fans and why? You point to 6-7k attending matches in a run down stadium in the National league. I'm afraid he hasn't got anything to throw at us that will stand in the media eye, the HMRC, the many debtors he owes, or former players.I suppose the big concern is are we actually going to make it through to the end of next season I’m not a season ticket holder but have been thinking about buying one for next season since I pretty much sit in the same seat each game.
I’m not sure that a boycott will achieve anything other than give Ronald ammunition to throw back at us because the lack of sales means staff can’t paid etc etc .
3,000 season ticket sales is a lot of money to us right now, mind you I use the word us lightly because its anything but us is it but i think we should think about the consequences of not providing the club with that pre season cash flow should a boycott happen.
That’s me off my soap .
Completely agree.I will only return if Ron sells bare minimum a partial stake in SUFC to allow investors to keep the club itself competitive and functioning.
I personally feel that if we are going to withhold our money, we have to be willing to walk away completely.
Time to put Martin over the barrel like he does to us. We must get out of the mindset that walking away means we don't love the club.
Is this ship called the Titanic? Where know how that ended!!Imagine if you will that SUFC is this great ship sailing the seas...
It has many fantastic crew aboard, all working hard to keep the ship sailing towards its destination.
But, the Captain keeps making awful decisions resulting in the ship hitting rocks and holes being put in the hull of the ship every day. The Captain also treats them poorly by promising them gold that never appears.
The crew work hard every day and night to repair the unrelenting damage and frantically fight to keep the ship afloat until it reaches its destination. All this whilst barely having any sleep as they worry for their future.
But, at some point the crew are going to become disillusioned with the Captain for all these disastrous decisions he is making and the way he treats them. Tiredness will overcome them. They feel like they can no longer save the ship, leaving them with a decision to make. Jump and save themselves, stay and fight for a Captain they do not believe in, or is it time for a mutiny?
How come nobody saw this comingDoesn’t look like she’s going to be able to help any more either!
The main difference is other chairmen don't stand to make half a billion quid if they hang on.As long as folks continue to buy season tickets, turn up in their thousands to support the club week in, week out. As long as we are safely mid table in the NL, Ron won’t be going anywhere! The years of protests haven’t achieved anything. Why are we different from other clubs where fan pressure has managed to eventually remove corrupt / bad ownership? It’s not working here!
I personally think our action should go in stages, stepping up in severity each time.Holding back your season card money for a few extra weeks won’t hurt Ron in the slightest. He’ll just promise fans everything will be fine, people will fall for it, buy their season cards and then we’ll be back to square one again.
He won’t be making £500 million profit, so hardly true. The main difference is other chairmen don't stand to make half a billion quid if they hang on.
If people are only holding back in fear of losing the seat they have always had, that can be easily protected on here. It's not like all the seats will be sold to ST holders, so new season ticket holders can avoid taking what has always been someone else's seat by a well organised plan. What we want is impact and transparency, not for people to miss sitting with life long friends. If seats can be protected, and I believe they can, then would this increase the support? It is really frustrating. I have been a season card/ticket holder for probably 50 years plus. I have sat in the same seat for many years, others around me have become friends. If I don't renew then my seat could go to someone else. I am sure many others on here are in exactly the same position. If I thought that everyone would boycott and not renew then I would join them. All I can think of is to not renew until the last day of the discount arrives. If only there was a sure way to get that dodgy property developer out of our club.
By all means your perogative but I just don't understand tgat whatever Ron wants to happen will happen regardless. There is nothing we can do. It is a horrible postion to be in but the sooner it is accepted that Ron has us by tge short and curlys and we do not have any power no matter what we do the slightly easief life is. The Ron roller coaster goes on until he gas had enough and not before. Good luck on your crusades but they will acheive nothing in my opinion. It feels the complete opposite to me. We are just sitting back accepting mediocrity if we all renew straight away with no questions asked.
Glad Churchill didn't give up so easily.....By all means your perogative but I just don't understand tgat whatever Ron wants to happen will happen regardless. There is nothing we can do. Great idea. Could do a database of seats. Wouldn't even need people's names to them, just add the seat to a list of seats to leave unbought. If/once fans are satisfied, then we can buy our ST's.If people are only holding back in fear of losing the seat they have always had, that can be easily protected on here.
