Question Would you delay renewing next season?

Are you delaying renewal of your season card for the 2023/2024 season?

I refuse to answer your questions. Apparently there are loads of Ron's fanboys and spies on here who will pass this information on to him. Then he will know whether or not I'm bluffing!
Then what is the point of this thread? The biggest insider we have on here is Stan, not a dig before people get uppity, so of course they know what is happening at the club.

No one has answered this point as yet.

Those that are prepared to hold back, what do you do in this situation?

Will it be a full boycott until you get answers? I’m assuming it has to be answers you want, not just any answer.

Will it be a full boycott until RM goes? Or FF gets underway? Or if RM gives up a slice of the pie?

Do you back down and buy one, potentially missing your “normal” seat and the early bird deal, if there is one?

Again, I’m not stirring the pot, I’m genuinely interested what people will do?

If we have 3,000 season ticket holders, and 1,000 of us renew as normal, but 2,000 don’t for whatever reason, that makes a statement, and hits the Club/RM in the pocket, which is arguably the best thing we can do. However, come the day before the season starts and additional 1,500 back down without the answers and buy because they want to get behind the team, we’ve made decent signings or whatever the reason then it kind of loses the point if we still don’t have the answers.
We appreciate you need to pass on the responses to Ron

Sorry I should have put "joke" in brackets at the end of my post! Or a suitable emoji but I would probably have picked the wrong one.

We don’t need a PI, we need a forensic accountant.

I’ve never understood how all of Ron’s companies can operate at a loss, yet he lives in a mansion, has flash cars and month-long holidays.

Where does he get his income from?

southend united fc ...

he extracts a minimum of 350k a year

Strange nothing was ever published regarding either the draw itself or the winners though.
Yeah I thought so too. Surely an opportunity for the club to share some good news and celebrate the winners.

It’s like winning the lottery: you need to keep the winners anonymous otherwise they’ll be flooded with people wanting seats in a box or to touch the signed shirt.

Also with GDPR I’d suggest you probably play safe and seek the winners’ permission before announcing their names.

Of course, I’m not suggesting they should have announced the winners and their particulars, but a short statement on the OS indicating the draw was being done, or at least had been done and the winners would be notified via email, doesn’t seem too much to ask for… does it?

You’d have thought the club would want to be seen to be A) spreading good news for a change and B) publicly making good on their offer.

I’m not sure reminding people they haven’t won is good news.

But well done on finding the most inconsequential task in the whole of the football club to complain about.

Is this really all we can come up with when it’s so divisive.
I’ve said this many times before. Let’s employ a private detective for a couple of weeks to track Ron Martin in all lawful ways possible. We’ll learn a lot more about our common enemy that way.
The man loves secrecy. The man loves silence. Let’s blow all that out of the water. A good private detective will know all the legal ins and outs of how to operate.
I really like this idea actually.

The credit card companies only release the money as games are played and therefore it is spread over the whole season as it should be with a responsible owner. We all paid by cash or by bank transfer this season and the money ran out in September when we were put under a transfer embargo. Surely at the very least everyone should commit to paying by credit card and allow the club to have a regular injection of money from ST sales throughout the season.

Well let me start this off and don't bother sending disparaging replies. It would be a shame to block too many people. 😉

I am boycotting games now for the rest of the season.

I went to Barnet and Chesterfield games, driving from Lowestoft both times. I get home at midnight. My choice. This was always a good trip out. However, the journey with its roadworks and rush hour traffic, parking, cost of food, 1 beer, ticket and especially the state of the stadium, the two poor performances and the constant **** the club is going through have made the games a chore rather than enjoyment. IT has managed to suck all the enjoyment for me out of watching our club. It has taken 58 years but IT will not get another penny from me this season. I will listen on the radio but that's it.

I do not believe we will make the play offs, the Amigos will leave at the end of the season and FF will not start this year if at all. I hope we can continue as the ORIGINAL SUFC but I am not so sure.

All of this is down to one Thing and one Thing only.

I will not return until this Club is under new ownership or IT has finally got the finances sorted, financially stable and RH fit for purpose or a new ground built.

One other thing, what a **** place for a new stadium. The journey for me would be even worse than getting to RH.

I love this Club. It is a big part of my life and a daily conversation piece in my private and work life. It now has the fourth generation of Blues supporters from this family. I have not made this decision lightly.

I love you Southend United and sincerely hope we will meet again.

I'm sure plenty would. But it doesn't seem to be an option with this club!

Bank transfer/Cash has been the only way to purchase for a while now. Let's see if that changes when they release season card info shortly. Tin hats on....

This exactly!!! I feel the same having travelled over from France for these two matches. BEFORE the Chesterfield game I sat with my lad in Shrimpers Bar having seen a Chesterfield fan (similar age to me - 60s) being refused service as he wasn't a home fan. We - my lad and I - had already chatted about whether we'd renew for next season and I said to my lad that this club isn't any longer one that I wish to be associated with. Which absolute muppet thought that it was a good idea to make the bar Home Fans Only? And when and where has this been communicated? Shrimpers bar has ALWAYS welcomed away fans. Even more money thrown away.

Back to the thread, sorry.... I come over for probably one game in three and have been a season ticket holder for many years now, but completely regardless of what this knob of a man tells us I very much doubt we'll be renewing. Everything he's said before is a total lie anyway. It seems that TL won't.... I suspect can't... tell us anything either as the knob won't allow him to.

I paid cash up front this year, with all the inherent risks that meant, our names are on a plaque outside the main entrance as we "donated" the unused cash from a few seasons ago back to the club, but now we're in the mess we're in I cannot honestly see anything other than a mass exodus come May.

I think I've seen my last SUFC match from my usual seat.

Def seems a weird decision?.

i think a DELAY in renewing by a significant number of fans would be an effective pressure ...

it would also build a group prepared to work together.

and why not ?

hold back your money for a few weeks .. and see which way the cookie is crumbling

and of course without a shadow of a doubt for 2023 - 2024 we will be fighting for our seats in the magnificent new stadium ... and our chairman will have signed Mason Mount and Harry Kane - or EFL equivalents

I’ll take a serious look at private detective costs covering all areas next week re Ron’s business life. If it’s financially doable then I’ll start a new thread on it.
