When will the takeover go through? The Waiting Game...

Am I the only one on here who was encouraged by the excellent summary by @Liam AAS ?

It does seem like Ron was being mischievous with his words by saying that he won't be putting any more security up. Jack owns the training ground.

Or have I missed something?
Unfortunately is the training ground not also subject to a charge as well? I don't think there is anything material land/property wise that is not subject to borrowing /a charge. I seem to remember the Dellals also have charges over elements of the development site? I think pretty much everything has been leveraged which is why we are where we are. That said its a £500m development at stake so compared with that you suspect/hope a solution would be found (note even if something is subject to a charge its not impossible to leverage for further borrowing either though or with the permission of the existing chargeholder).

We will just have to wait for Friday. As always there is much more we don't know than we do..

I'm glad someone was!

A big thank you to all the people on here who are trying to keep the vast majority of us "we haven't got a clue" people up to date.

Unfortunately there are only a small number of things that I can keep in my head at any one time and this whole farago is well beyond my mental capacity.

I still appreciate the efforts of those who can condense & summarise. Ta muchly.

Come on Liam (@Liam AAS), you've been on this site for 12 years, so you should be well aware that when things look bad, the ShrimperZone collective plumps for the worst possible outcome. I sometimes think that that approach is a defensive mechanism.

There are over 8k members of the Zone, mostly silent lurkers, and it wouldn't surprise me if a goodly number of those are a bit encouraged by your post.

Really, I think most people on ShrimperZone are sick to the back teeth of this whole saga? WE all want a positive outcome to this, and to say that people plump for the worst possible outcome when things look bad as a defensive mechanism is crazy?
Defending the indefensible like the 🐀, getting away with what he has done and is still doing. We are relying on a number of authorities, SCC, NL, WUP / Courts, The 🐀 family, to align for us to move forward. You cannot blame people to be a bit concerned?

We await the outcome once Friday passes to see if they have managed to thrash out a deal or if COSU`s 3 points have not been met, the announcement from them?

Everything crossed 🙏🙏🙏🙏

The way I see it.

The council will come to an agreement with Ron Martin and co. It might be a few weeks but it will happen.

That leaves the consortium with a choice. Walk away and 3.5 million goes down the drain or continue and be frustrated but end up owning the club they set out to buy. It's not their fault they were made false promises but a deal is close.

They should go all guns blazing on season cards and try and sell 5k on the strength of good marketing and a rally call for the fans.

Get the embargo lifted. Sign a few and re-sign a couple of players.

Get some feel good going and look forward to the start of something special.

Indeed.

Only problem is Tommy all us support have forgotten what the feel good factor actually feels like. But let’s hope your right mate 🤞🤞🤞

IF and itsa big if The council and Ron can finaly get an agreement Let the concortium know where they stand .Then as it has been stated Pay the debt off get the embargo lifted Then the sky is the limit Keep the squad together all but Powell Then try to get a couple in ASAP

The council can’t agree to anything that doesn’t totally safeguard the rate payers loot.
What May make us all happy now could be a financial disaster in 5 years time , actually it almost certainly would be.
The borough’s residents come first for them, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were court cases should we all have to cough up another 250 odd quid a year to get out of a Rat black hole ..
It is what it is but there is no way the Council will ‘wing it’ to save our/a football club

That's not much better than bricks and mortar. With the population soaring, demand will only increase.

At no point will they fail to let property.

Some flats have over 30 applicants for rentals. Letting agents don't even need to do viewings anymore.

Tomorrow is D day for our proud football club.

Good or bad news this nightmare will finally be over and we will know one way or the other if we still have a club to support.
Fingers crossed 🤞 for positive news.

Technically, IF the consortium pull out tomorrow as their demands haven’t been met, we will still be in existence, but very much on life support.

Things won’t be rosy, but it isn’t necessarily the end of the Club.

Annoyingly I think even if they do stick with us tomorrow, this nightmare will continue until the deals with Ron and the council have been concluded. We should be able to move forward with our season though hopefully.

Don’t think we will get any statement until the weekend or even Monday.
Fingers crossed and all that. But got a feeling the 🐀 is in a corner. Don’t know if he’s got anything to offer the consortium as security.
I really hope my take on things are wrong. COYB’s 💙
