When will the takeover go through? The Waiting Game...

It is amazing that since Ron put the club up for sale, we have seen York, Yeovil, Rochdale, Torquay and Scunny all get new owners of their club and we get some great new owners buying the club for a small amount of money and yet, he is still the chairman. :Headbang:
And as for the council, they got rid of Essex cricket from Southend and now it seems they'll do a double and get rid of our football team and ground too.:Dizzy:

Purdah means curtain in Urdu. Things don’t stop but instead continue behind the curtain.

The idea is that whoever is in government doesn’t get to exploit its position of power to make partisan announcements. All parties/politicians should instead campaign on an equal footing throughout the campaign.

This should not prevent council getting on with their work in the meantime, nor updating Justin and the Consortium. It will limit the public announcements that can be made on a subject that many feel strongly about.
As candidates we were told that you can’t use the word purdah anymore due to ‘race issues’ so we had to use the term election period restrictions EPR

Can’t see anything happening soon. It’s certainly not going to be settled before the league AGM or even before the WUP.
Just getting lost for words now, I can see the consortium doing one before the end of month. And who could blame them.

See what don’t add up for me there is them doing one but paid wages which would have been thousands of pounds.

If they had an intention of walking away surly wages would have been unpaid?

Absolutely but unfortunately we have an owner who has mortgaged our club with a web of complex arrangements which is causing the council difficulties in unravelling.Concerning the council were at fault in ECCC leaving the area was that they wished that the council staff maintained the cricket square but ultimately ECCC decided to stop taking the team around the county and stay at Chelmsford

IIrc at the meeting with the consortium it was suggested that a protest with the council (or Councillor) as that of the rat
Shouldn't happen! With a 😉.

Oh have a day off….
Who are you again? As I recall, you share a lot of transfer gossip that never turns out to be accurate. As for me, you tell me where I’ve got it wrong during this whole process. Clearly, there are a few other Zoners who share your opinion, but I would tell you that I’m not being negative because I enjoy it. I’m trying to share news and not give fellow fans a false sense of security. This is another delay and I firmly believe that the council could provide more information if they were working together and framing this as a consensus issue. But both sides are intent on political point scoring so they won’t.

The part that worries me is the part that says "we are working on a plan that gives COSU confidence" that says to me that COSU have had enough of all the fannying about. And lets be fair who would blame them. As for the National league well i hate to say it, this dosent look good at all.
Got a feeling that we should be prepared for another dose of bad news early next week (just my two cents i know nothing !!)

The council aren't unravelling any clubs finances.

This is a deal between the council and the FF developer

For all my negativity towards councillors and politicians, I am not including @TrueBlue in this. He’s a standup guy and a dear friend.
So reading between the lines Cricko posted this is more positive and True Blue liked it. I am guessing from this comment you have put that True Blue works in/for the council. Does that mean the update is positive and good news is hopefully closer than we think?

So, I'm a lot more positive about this.

Firstly COSU will be taking their advice not from brief statements on Twitter but from direct conversations with the Council and the Rat family.

The fact that the Council and developers are "working on a plan that gives COSU confidence" I think means they know for certain what COSU needs to get that confidence and that's what they're aiming to deliver.

He can't give a formal update on the Council site because of election restrictions, that doesn't mean things aren't happening though - he's just trying to prepare us for not getting a statement.

Hold tight for a bit longer everyone!

True Blue was a candidate for the Council but wasn’t elected. He knows how procedures work but probably doesn’t have any inside scoop as he was a Conservative candidate. All I can tell you is that there are consortium members who are not viewing this as positive.

I think consortium have given until the end of June to get this deal over the line .
Being realistic does anyone believe this will happen? Just my take on the situation. With all these delays it could just go on and on.
