When will the takeover go through? Council / Citizen Housing agree new Heads of Terms 26 June

Hhmmm - not sure if they do nothing then, then Cosu could walk, then if the pack of cards falls, they're left with RH, no effective planning permission, and a dilapidated stadium. If that then leaves them with an impaired asset and facing losses - who knows? So doing nothing might not be risk free for them.

Let's hope CBRE bods are working over the weekend!

Thanks for engaging, helps play through scenarios in my head
We don't work weekends. I do. But 99% of the firm don't

What does it day please

CONSORTIUM members Justin Rees and Jason Brown have flown back to England in a bid to quicken their takeover of Southend United.

Rees will arrive from Australia on Monday morning while Brown has headed home from Hong Kong ahead of a hugely significant day for the future of the Shrimpers.

The consortium revealed last week how they are now trying to take control of the club immediately after the National League requested a £1million bond to be paid to prove Blues could fulfil their fixtures during the forthcoming campaign unless their was a change of ownership.

The Shrimpers have appealed that decision while takeover talks continue with Ron Martin but the Echo understands there is now an issue with the previously committed £20million contribution to Roots Hall development.

The National League are continuing to monitor the situation while they also assess their next move.

Course there is an issue with committed 20 million. Anyone that knows king Rat knows he was probably never going to give that anyway - well I would certainly be surprised if he did

I'm convinced that Jason Rees said, possibly at the Pavilion, that the £20m wasn't a game changer but would be 'nice'. Or words to that effect?

Arriving tomorrow? Putting pen to paper maybe?
Certainly going to be the intention one would expect.
Depending on 1) if the £20million from 🐀 is a nice to have as has been said, or if it’s actually a pivotal part of the deal, and 2) are the league going to withdraw the £1million bond ask, more importantly, if not, are COSU happy to pay it. Possibly 3) if not withdrawn and COSU won’t pay it, what punishment would the league apply

If they believed the deal was about to be finalised they would surely be there in person for such a historic occasion but then if the whole thing was about to fall apart they might wan to make a last ditch effort to try and save it.

Take your pick!
Both - 2 and then 1
