The Esso at Lampits Hill is about the cheapest. That robbing git at the Murco needs stuffing, I'd rather run out than use him.Generally, the bigger the retail outlet, the lower the price. Think Supermarket v. village petrol station. But yes, more profit in flats. Bone of contention in Corringham !
Diesel additives include cetane improver, lubricity, detergent and anti-foamant (to counteract the foaming of detergent!). Some contain an odourant too.The ‘additives’ don’t make that much of a difference
What’s the price there. Jet in Rochford is 145.7p.The Esso at Lampits Hill is about the cheapest. That robbing git at the Murco needs stuffing, I'd rather run out than use him.
As a lab tech for 37 tears at Coryton, no I won't be surprised. But yes, "performance improvers" can only be higher octane (not lead anymore) and even then for performance engines. Using Super instead of Premium in a normal family car is pointless. Other additives differ slightly and different oil companies have preferred suppliers.Am aware of what does or doesn’t get (and can be) added to diesel / petrol and the components of each product after cracking at the refinery….you may be surprised by what fuels actually contain In their ‘natural’ form. So saying, any gains tend to be marginal in respect of performance, other than improvements in starting and a presumption of reduced engine wear due to use of ’cleaner’ fuels.
£1.529 in Hadleigh - a mere £6.95 a gallon!What’s the price there. Jet in Rochford is 145.7p.
Similar to BP at Toomeys in Cherry Orchard Way. Mind you, cheap compared to motorways…£1.529 in Hadleigh - a mere £6.95 a gallon!
Effectively with no two engines (or drivers) being alike nothing could be proven to any confirmed degree about improvements due to usage, agree that the old Super was only of benefit to high performance engines. It did zilch for 99pct of cars on the road despite far-fetched claims from some car owners to the contrary. Many years back used to deal with Associated Octel who provided anti-knock compounds for fuel. Fascinating subject is oil….As a lab tech for 37 tears at Coryton, no I won't be surprised. Ah - TEL! (Tetra ethyl lead!) You'll know about CFR engines, used to work with them. RONs, DONs, MONs. Never did FEONs or Cetanes though.Effectively with no two engines (or drivers) being alike nothing could be proven to any confirmed degree about improvements due to usage, agree that the old Super was only of benefit to high performance engines. Indeed so. Always taken interest in fuel developments over the years though my area was marine which involver far less sophistication in propulsion fuels…..more akin to slops.Ah - TEL!
