This line, completely unprompted, from my son...

"When I'm older and playing for Southend, I won't move to another team until Southend are in the Premier League"

A little disappointed that he'd even contemplate leaving SUFC, but I admire his ambition.

Years ago my son told me he would play for the following teams in this order:

Southend
Arsenal
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Chelsea
Tottenham

I was a bit disappointed with him. It's all downhill after such a promising start.
