Question What is making you happy today?

Won the football card at darts last night, then checked out 120 to win the match 5-4 for our team.

Horrendously smug, sorry, but that was my best checkout since joining the team so I'm shouting about it.

You mean you didn't end on double 1 like normal folks. :hilarious:

lucky, lucky boy. come 17:00 went to leave work, couldn't find car keys, mad panic. Ran to the car, there they were, in the ignition, door unlocked, what a relief. :stunned:

Shainghi as its known in the darts world. Don't ask why, I have no idea.

Even google doesn't give away much.

A score of a single, double and triple in the same number. "Shanghai" sometimes refers to a checkout of 120 (single, treble and double 20). In some games this is an automatic win i.e in a game of Shanghai.

Yeah, I've never found out either. And the internet has not helped - one search helpfully told me that shanghai is a big city in China. Thanks lads!

"Annie's Room" as an alternative for D1 is one I've never deciphered either. "Mad House" makes sense of course, but I've no idea who Annie is or indeed why I end up in her room so often.

Apparantly it's to do with a lost cause, nowhere to go but Double 1. Comes from military slang where 'Up in Annie's Room' means location unknown (ie, dead).

From Dent's Modern Tribes.
