Question What is making you happy today?

Off to Paris for a few days via an overnighter in London. The weather is going to warm up nicely and I'm taking Mrs MK up the Eiffel Tower....well it is Valentine's day.....:whistling:

selling the debut New Order 12" on ebay and current bit is £234 which is £194 more than it has ever sold for on Discogs - turns out that is because the sleeve on the one I am selling is a darker green than the others! I was expecting £30 tops for it

Vinyl is going through the roof at the Moment, for the first time ever I have had to take it into account on my insurance.
with one record I own recently changing hands for 900 pounds.

And only about 2 hours to go! Given the price it's gone for can I make a suggstion regarding postage? Either send it signed for, or make sure you take it to a post office and get a certificate of posting.

As for me, a couple of things:

1. We've moved out of home for the week whilst the builders move the staircase, re-route the plumbing and basically do all the jobs that we can't be around for. We've moved in with my mother in law, which has reduced my commute to work to 20 minutes!
2. It's my birthday today, and my wife is taking me out for dinner. Looking forward to it.

I was hoping it would be someone in London and I'd deliver it personally but the buyer is in Scotland. I'll spend as much as its possible to spend on postage to make sure!

Happy birthday.

it is crazy - I just got £50+ for a Beastie Boys album, £40+ for a My Bloody Valentine EP, £40+ for a Swiss punk album that noone has ever heard of. All stuff I have on CD anyway so I don't feel I'm missing out. Vinyl is best in 7" form for me, I'll get rid of everything bigger than that and still be happy.

Late cancellation of some company classes in Sabadell.Which means I get paid for doing nothing.Yippie.

(Must be like this for MKS all the time).:smiles:

Up yer bum Barna. :dim:

Back from Paris, wonderful city, and despite the cliche the people were delightful, friendly and didn't mind when my (very) pigeon french let me down. I shall return one day to see the many things I didn't have time to see.

But I spent a frucking fortune! :stunned:

Manage to get rid of a whole load of building waste earlier this week. Had to drive it out to a friend's Bucks way but worth it to save on the asbestos clear-up costs, even if I did spend half a day going round roundabouts.

To keep the wife and kids happy and to stop the moaning about me going abroad to watch footie, I have booked a break for us all.
'Where you fancy dearest'
'York belovered, I love York or failing that, Bath'

A Premier Inn will cater for our needs, thinks I.
And it comes to pass that Premier Inns can stick their prices where the sun don't shine. York, 3 nights in October, £362.00. Bath for the same was £450.

So we are off to Bruges. Four nights hotel and Le Shuttle for less than 3 nights in York. Blighty can FRO in future for weekend breaks. My peace with Belguim has been made.

Natalie from Eastenders (and Mrs Baker in Cradle to Grave) has started doing drama classes in our town so we've enrolled our youngest.

My neice did one of those from the age of 11, and it's amazing to see how confident and well spoken she is in relation to her peers. She was offered her chosen Uni without having to worry about A Level Grades and Leicester even offered her a scholarship (but she didn't want to go there, silly girl!)

Monday lunch time now reminiscing about the weekend over a 5 bean salad (I know I know!) Friday night tried out the Smokehouse place on London road, Gallachers? If you haven't been there book a table now! the food was absolutely superb and full of flavour, portion sizes were huge! couldn't recommend the place enough!!
