I can't watch it now. I used to in the 70s when it was a proper song contest, and the votes were fairer, and we could win it. Now I just watch the voting part for a laugh. Always enjoy Cyprus and Greece giving each other Maximum points. And all Russia's terrified neighbours giving Russia maximum points, no matter how bad the song is. They can't do it this year though, as Russia is banned.

It made me laugh because this thread was started Eleven years ago, and has nearly 14,000 posts based on the title.....What is hacking you off today? And then you pipe up and single two posters out. Me and the other guy are probably not in the top 50 for most comments or moaning on this thread. So it did seem a bit strange, especially as you are one of the top moaners on this thread.

Slept in the tent overnight, testing the stuff. Into tent comes the cat. Does he curl up on he sleeping bag and sleep? No. Does he want to sleep in the bag with me? No. Does he want to stomp all over me, purr loudly and dribble in my ear'ole at 03:17 hrs? Have a guess.

I’m not saying there aren’t political issues - Ukraine will almost certainly win tonight - but I think it is exaggerated. Israel won a couple of years ago and it’s not the exactly most popular country in the world.

The UK will do much better this year because the song is memorable and has attracted interest in Europe. Simple as.

You could have a Ukrainian who's got a face full of tattoo's, 50 piercings on his or her face and sing Agadoo and they'd still win.

Such a pointless competition.

As for Isreal winning, the last time I looked they're not in Europe, that just sums up this **** show.

Personally I couldn't care less about the ESC but actually agree with all of that. I always wonder when people accuse countries of supporting each other whether that is more to do with certain countries share a taste in music and therefore happen to like the music they both produce.
 
Sorry guys, but the voting is political. Terry Wogan resigned over it. Him and Graham Norton used to take the mickey out of the voting. They knew which countries would be giving maximum points to each other. Yes, our entries haven't been good enough to win it, but certainly good enough to finish in the top ten. But of course, we finish bottom 5 with some horrendous songs and singers finishing above us. Some experts gave our best chance to Andy Abraham. He was an 8/1 shot to win it as the song was good and had a chance. He was faultless and gave the performance of his life. He finished joint last. Terry Wogan was particularly fuming over that one, pointing out that some ridiculously bad songs finished well ahead of the UK. He resigned 3 years later, calling it a political song contest.
 
"Eurovision" refers to the name of the broadcasting company - they receive that channel in Israel, hence their eligibility.

Same for us. They scare all the little birds and their constant noise drives me insane. I did put up on our local FB group asking the best way to deter and got slaughter.

As the weather was gorgeous yesterday I spent the day round the pool. Some parents really do need lessons in parenting.
I feel for some of the kids these days as all some of the parents were doing were either looking on their phones, drinking or sleeping whilst their kids were causing havoc for everyone else. When they get spoken to they completely flip out and then shout and scream (like their kids).
