Ah, I'm fan of "cuddles" so I think I may have politely declined the invite.

One for all and all for one. It's that sort of team spirit that got us to the final of last season's cup competition* and has us nicely in the top three of the league this campaign.

\local band, charging £8 a ticket for a gig tomorrow, want me to do the stage lighting.

For nothing. Ummm...

We've just had a little old lady shuffling around our front garden which is all block paved, but she was shuffling around between my car and the lounge front window. My son initially thought she was doing something to my car as she was leaning on it at some point. She was confused and said she'd had a fall so we got a chair and sat her down in the shade. We have an old folks' home a few doors along from us and I've often seen her about and knew she'd come from there. After a bit of discussion, my son and I agreed to help her get home. No warden response on the buzzer but she had her keys and let us in the main door, I sent my son off to try and find someone to help. There were several residents in the lounge and they all came out, obviously concerned....turns out she's not in full possession of her faculties and she shouldn't be out on her own but there's no-one there to keep an eye on her. She didn't want to go back to her room and wanted to be outside. Very sad. Made me cross that there wasn't someone there in a professional capacity to be able to help.

Bloody bamboo in the back garden.

Not good. Friends of ours have some also. It doesn't seem to matter what they do, it keeps coming back. It's so strong it keeps taking up the paving stones on their patio. Every time they think they have it sorted, it all comes back again. It's horrible stuff.

This weekend has been completely nuts.

Son is laid up with chickenpox, the poor little dude.

Saturday I nipped to the shops with my 16month daughter. Turned the airbag off and stuck her in the seat up front with me so I can see her. Driving home some bellend cuts right across me and I slam on. Give him a decent blast on the horn. He then pulls right up alongside me and is ranting at me, I do the standard '**** off' and hand wave to him. He then cuts in behind me and follows me back towards my house. I drive at 15mph thinking he'll get bored and **** off but then get stuck behind some traffic. He jumps out of his car and chases me up the road. smacking on my window and ranting. Think he finally clocks I've got a baby in the car and I'm not jumping out for a fight. He then punches my wing mirror and but is such a nob he doesn't even break it. There are some crazy people on the road.

So then yesterday I'm driving to the tip and the route is some tight country lanes where we live. Some **** in a X5 going the other way comes right over onto my side. Forcing me to go into the verge and I smash my passenger side wing mirror. So having my driver one survive on saturday my passenger one is now ****ed. Fortunately it's a bit scuffed but works, and so it's just the glass that needs fixing.

Nightmare, I drive loads but never had an accident or any issues before.

Sheesh, some utter ***** on the road for sure. On the plus side, isn't a good thing that your lad has got the Pox early, as I believe it's worse when you get older? (you're the medical man!)

Not sure in childhood but it's nasty if you get it first when an adult. He's 3 so maybe a touch young (he doesn't like piriton or camomile lotion which isn't very helpful), but on the whole he's been pretty good. Just concerned about younger sister getting it because she is little, and there is a theory that sibling-contracted chickenpox can be worse due to greater exposure to the virus. Expect to see some spots on her in a couple of weeks.

Mine had it when she was 18 months (IIRC).

Being notified at 4.50pm today, that due to a decline in business turnover, I was being laid off after my shift finished!. Only been there 13 months, so no golden handshake, just a weeks pay in lieu of notice.
At least I can enjoy the lovely weather for the next couple of days, and not being stuck in the office!.
Onwards & upwards!

Christ. :stunned:

My ability to handle alcohol and the banging hangover I am now suffering from. Getting old sucks!
