Open my usual corner yoghurt for dessert and there was what looked like a booger in the yoghurty part.

Still ate it. I didn't.

Good night was it, you lucky girl.:whistling:

Went to see Jersey Boys up London town, got back about midnight after going all round the loop - train details had said no stops between Barking and Pitsea but nothing about a detour. Presume there was engineering work going on. Just couldn't get off to sleep after that

Sounds awful.

And then MK goes and makes it worse by adding 15 minutes onto your journey.

Jersey Boys is superb.

Grease however bucks the trend by being **** live and having a **** film.

Never seen it live, but I can imagine you're correct. My view, however, is that live is better simply because it's live. Hearing someone sing live is always better than a recording. (In musical theatre that is.)

Don't really do musicals, but Oliver! live was good but only as I knew the songs from the film.

Oliver was indeed very good, and Steven Hartley as Sykes was amazing. Not so much for his voice, but his sheer presence of stage. He was on stage just standing still for about 2-3 minutes, but you couldn't take your eyes off him.

Even after watching the latest Inside No.9 and going "oh yeah" when they revealed the clues to the crossword, I'm absolutely none the wiser when it came to decyphering the latest Guardian one. :dim:

Yet another of my invoices hasn't been paid. Last month I had just submitted my Jan invoice to be told that there was some internal accounting issue that meant there wasn't enough money to pay it, or my Feb one when it becomes due. I chased and chased to be told that the issue was actually not an issue, and would be sorted. My invoice was due today, so on Monday I emailed to double check that it would be paid. I was assured it would. I even received the remittance advice on Wednesday (which doesn't always happen for some reason).

Any, this morning I log on to my business bank account to find the money hasn't been paid. No worries, I thought, I'll check again when I get to the office because it might be delayed. I get to the office, log on again, and find that it hasn't been paid. I then ring up my bank to see if the money is pending, which it isn't.

So, I sent an email to the accounts payable team to find out what is going on. The guy I spoke to said he heard there was a problem with the entire bill run last night because of a problem at the company's bank and everybody is in the same boat. As ridiculous as this sounds, it made me feel less bad, because the issue isn't specific to my contract.

They are investigating and will get back to me. However, it is still really frustrating that I seem to have these kind of issues on a very regular basis.

I've just agreed to extend my contract to the end of August. I think after that I might have to call it a day, and go elsewhere. I can't be doing with this.

As a freelance I feel your pain.Last month one of the companies I work for didn't pay me on time, causing problems at the bank.

No problems on Monday. Though another organisation I work for (LFB) doesn't pay up until the middle of the month afterwards. Not nice.
The UAB, (where I taught for 8 years), always paid up two months late, except in my last year there, when payments were much later than that, which is precisely why I decided to leave them.

I used to add a clause saying any payment over 30 days incurs a charge of 8%.

It's just really frustrating, and plays havoc with your motivation. The people I work with are really nice, and aren't the problem, but I find it very difficult to maintain a professional outlook when I keep wondering if I'm going to get paid for all the work they keep piling on.

My problem is I'm too lazy to look elsewhere for a contract. However, I've told them that even if they want to renew after August I'm taking September off. This is for two reasons. Firstly, I need to have a month off so that I can work elsewhere even for a few days here and there, i.e. have other contracts. I have something lined up with my wife's company. (She needs a whole load of work done which will take about a week.) I also have a couple of friends with companies that need some work done. All are happy to wait. By doing all that I can demonstrate to HMRC that I really am a contractor! Secondly, my wife will hopefully be having her back surgery (a year late) in September so that it will be useful for me to be around.

I can also use that month to see what else is out there...

No excuse.

If they are anything like my agents they have been sitting on the money for a month at least...
