I didn't do all those scratchcards to pay for silver and bronze medals.

This old chestnut? A comment he made, off camera, as a joke to Tim Henman when he was 19 and then reported by a scumbag journalist as "truth".

He's a model professional an incredible athlete and one of the greatest tennis players this world has ever seen and I'm privaleged to see him win Olympic titles and Grand Slams, 'cos there ain't anyone Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish or even English anywhere near him.

He's still a miserable single toned boring 'funk'.

which is why I don't particularly rave about him he bores me to tears!

Chatting to someone from Minnesota, I mentioned Fargo (he'd not seen it) and Prince (he wasn't a fan). Sorry buddy but that's the end of our conversation.

He's a pro tennis player, not Frankie ****ing Boyle.

well, yea he is a pro tennis player, he's just bloody boring! I like a sportsman with a bit of personality or something in there game he's just very robotic in the way he plays and did I mention I think he's a tad boring?

Returning to the comments about annoying use of English language - since when did "Can I get a....?" become the correct way to ask for a drink/food in a shop, pub or restaurant, as in, "Can I get a decaff, skinny latte?"

I've been "guilty" of this usage since the 90's.As Van the Man says:"It's too late to stop now" :winking:

His game is anything but robotic. It's all about the subtle changes he makes.

And he definitely has a personality. The way he slapped down Inverdale when Inverdale asked him what it was like to be the first tennis player to have won 2 gold medals made me (and probably Redgrave) LOL.

The correct response from the Staff when asked that is, "Sorry , you cant, as that's my job, however would you like me to get it for you"

But he does have a personality and this is something he has improved massively over the last few years. You have probably buried your head ion the sand and just hate him for no reason.

He has a very boring monotone voice, but he himself is far from boring. On court, I.e. when he's at work maybe he is, but I suggest you watch his interviews, comic relief sketch and various other TV appearances.

Me too. Performance reviews are a waste of time.

My performance review comes down to getting my contract renewed.

The difference between poor/good/exceeded equates to about £100/year. Really worth going that "extra mile".

Also, I've started noticing that all the support staff (cleaners etc) have become very refferential and addressing everyone me as sir. Makes my skin crawl...just call me "mate" I'm no better.

Perhaps they don't want to be your mate?

I just do complicated 'street' handshakes with our support staff.
