I'm on paternity leave so it's really playing up now :winking:

I'm being really lucky. Even though the pollen count has been high lately I've not taken anything, and that includes eye drops and nasal spray. I must be finally getting rid of this.

When I lived back in Essex I would buy local honey, have a slice of toast with it every morning and I didn't suffer for years. The past few summers I've been in Afghan and the Falklands so haven't had it then. But it's started to pick up again. I'm hoping to move back to Essex this year if all goes to plan so I will be going back to see my local honey dealer and getting some of his fine product again! For now it's back on Loratadine and Piriton to hopefully settle it.

With the honey, and I believe it an accepted medical remedy/alleviate for hay fever, ought you not to be getting down to a local farm shop and getting some Brize/Oxfordshire sourced honey?
Local pollen, local bees, local honey = less hay fever?

Slow walkers at buys train stations.

Old people, folk with little ones, people with mobility issues - all fine.

But people just ambling along because they are too entranced by whatever is on their phone - get in the sea.

I've never found it to have quick results, I should really get it going incase I stay but I've seen it as I could be back in Essex soon.

No evidence that this works y'know.

Well I gave it a go as a bad sufferer of hayfever and didn't suffer for 3 years in a row when doing the local honey thing. And before you say it the crops growing around my area were the same. It's the rape seed that affects it the worst and the local farmer continued growing that whilst I was not suffering.

The NHS website doesn't mention it at all, but it does suggest the following practical actions you can take:

  • wearing wraparound sunglasses to stop pollen getting in your eyes when you're outdoors
  • taking a shower and changing your clothes after being outdoors to remove the pollen on your body
  • staying indoors when the pollen count is high (over 50 grains per cubic metre of air)
  • applying a small amount of Vaseline (petroleum gel) to the nasal openings to trap pollen grains

Had a moving company around today for a quote, and the bloke put my missus under so much pressure to sign saying that "I agreed to use them" which is a big fat lie. God bless 'er, she stood ground and didn't sign a thing.

On the offchance you live in Slough, Northampton or Kettering or abouts, don't use HMA Transporters.
