Another letter from Virgin Media this morning, saying the monthly fee rising by another £2.50

This is I think the third rise in the last 12 months. Becoming a real ****take.

Same from Sky except it's a £2.75 increase. Just cancelling it now the money grabbing *****.

Not in the same league as you pair, but when o2 sold off it's home broadband to Sky my monthly charge was £9.50. I've just noticed that it's £15 now, two surcharges because I don't take their phone and TV packages. Sky are quite good at being commercial arses it seems. As my Broadband speed is only 6 meg across the land line I think it might be time to pay BT a visit. Anyone know of any just cause why I shouldn't? bad experiences etc?

Oh no, that's for both buying and selling.

So they're doing twice the work of the Estate Agent you're paying three and a half times as much, and you're complaining about them?

And that's before considering that the work they do is complicated and requires years of training instead of just a shiny suit and pointy shoes.

What I was complaining about is that they hadn't made contact in over a week, despite reassurances that they the solicitor dealing with the case would be in touch the day after I instructed them - she was off sick and apologised.

So you're buying AND selling through them and they're charging you that? Blimey! Most agents round here are working on 1% sole agency, some are even under cutting that just to get the business as it's so cut and thrust in the area at present.

Doesn't sound rediculous. Don't forget things can be quite regional. We're paying 1% but that was quite competitive against a few agents.

As for me, I've booked next week off work to do some flying. I've booked the plane for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (I booked it a few weeks back). Currently the weather is forecast is very changeable for those days, so I might end up being grounded.
