Not only did the powers of the universe terminate my mums life with cancer last August, my mum in law has now been given 2 months max. Haven't really had time to grieve but I'm going to have to support the wife through it this time. I'm a lot stronger than her, shes in bits already. First sacrifice me and Taylor have had to make is to miss the game today so I could look after my daughter. By the sound of the commentary and the posts on the official thread, it's done us a favour

* Edit - Now winning so gutted im not there

So sorry to here that Phil. As Ken says if you need anything or just to chat we've known each other a long time, always there for a fellow vertically challenged person :winking:

Building society asking for utility bill from the last 3 months.....everything is done by direct debit and I get one bill a year which generally goes in the bin. Is this the 1990s?

I had the same issue not all that long ago when setting up my offshore bank accounts. (Ok, I was changing accountants, but that doesn't sound anywhere near as good.) The issue is slightly different with me because all the utility bills are in my wife's name. The accountant was happy to accept a bank statement which I had to print off the internet!

Morons that put their bin bags out the night before collection so that the creatures of the night can rip them to shreds and disperse the contents over a wide area.

I walked past at least thirty soiled nappies on Benfleet high Street this morning.

What island for you rinse your cash through?

Do that here, never had that problem, especially as they don't (or shouldn't) contain any food waste. The bin men came at 6:45 last Friday....about the time I get up.

I'm thinking Foulness.

That's only a problem because Southend doesn't have wheelie bins.

I didn't know Michael Howard lived in Benfleet.

MK JNr had a friend around after school last night, and her mum and my wife were chatting.

1) The little girl's mum is young enough to be my own daughter. :stunned: #gettingonabit
2) Her father actively stops the girl from taking part in anything vaguely religious - now I have no idea if this isn just non Christian, but I know she was stopped in dressing up for Eid recently. However it also transpires that he's told his 5yr old already that there is no Santa. What a knobber.

The solicitor I'm using for house business is next to useless and I'm thinking I'm going to have to sack them.

Depending on how much you've already paid out, I'd seriously consider it! Give them a rocket and tell them to buck their ideas up and involve your agent to push them too.

£360 and I've not even had any communication from them, not even a courtesy phone call from the actual solicitor. Thanks for the tip regards the Estate Agent, I'll give them a ring.

It might not help, but it's worth a try. Most solicitors are keen to keep agents onside in the hope of attracting their recommendations.
