What have you watched on TV?

Caught up with C4's excellent documentary Can Elon Musk Rule the World? last night.A frightening thought.

Also saw the Abba stuff on BBC4 last night and in the early hours.A great pop group..

"We're all town aren't we" on Amazon prime.
I stumbled across this the other day and it's the story of Grimsby's relegation to the National league (with us😡) and their remarkable return to the EFL at the first attempt in that crazy play off campaign which saw them overturn mighty Wrexham and Notts County before beating Solihull in the last minute of the final at the London stadium.
It's only 3 episodes so isn't padded out with guff like the Wrexham saga and it also contains quite a lot of action - none from our games against them however.
Grimsby in many ways are our slightly more fishy northern twin and we've shared many of the same adventures over the last 50 or so years, starting with promotion in 1972 and the great times of the early nineties when we enjoyed back to back promotion with them so maybe it'll be our turn soon.
Having watched this it seems even more incredible that they turned it round so quickly as they were a real basket case in the relegation year from the EFL.
It's not new so maybe it's done the rounds on here already. If not it's worth a look. It should have been us 😀

Somewhat late to the table but I am now on episode 2 of Peaky Blinders. On the fence at the moment as to whether it tops Boardwalk Empire.

Quite enjoyed the Roberta Flack Story on BBC 4 Last night. Also caught up with last wek's excellent The Alan Hull Story + Rock goes To college 1978's Lindisfarne concert.Seem to remember seeing Lindisfarne a couple of times back in the day.Once memorably at the Palace with Grumpy Blue circa 71/2.They played Nicely out of Tune ,Blaydon Races & Fog on the Tyne. All suprisingly absent from that '78 gig.

Resident Alien - Netflix. A huge amount of comedy nonsense series, but nevertheless very watchable with Alan Tudyk taking the lead (one of my favourite actors).

I've mentioned this one before but here goes again. Patriot on Amazon Prime is excellent. Takes a couple of eps to get into it but well worth the wait. Apologies for banging on about it. Enjoy.

Amandaland. Very good. The episode (5th out of 6th i think) when the mother (Lumley) accepts the £20 bribe from Amanda's boyfriend after the kids take theirs is just priceless .... as it is when she just quietly holds her hand out for another note later.

Saw the first two episodes of the latest Agatha Christie adaptation, Towards Zero yesterday afternoon. It's one of her psychological thrillers, and doesn't include any of her usual main characters.

I usually hate TV adaptations of her work but apart from a bit of gratuitous oral sex in full view of another character (NEVER would she have written that!), I've been surprised at how much I've enjoyed it. True to the period, and not too many liberties taken.

Murdering someone is taking quite a liberty.
