What have you watched on TV?

The House of the Dragon (3/4 through S1) and Traitors are my main TV shows. Although Motherland seems to be on constant rotation at our house as my eldest enjoys it.

LOVE Motherland. Totally missed it the first time round but binged the whole lot over Xmas and now I'm a little bit in love with Anna Maxwell Martin.

Can't agree that Dylan hasn't made a decent record since 1976 (Would that be Blood on the Tracks btw)?
Desire is his last good record IMHO.

I can remember when I first listened to him back in 1990, I had the same opinion I have now; lots of truly great songs from 1963-76, and undoubtedly a real trailblazer throughout the 1960s, but his music never really moves me. I said as much at the time to a friend who was a huge fan and he said you need to have a baptism of fire with Dylan and then it'll all make sense. Honestly, I feel like I've been stood at the font, matches at the ready for over 30 years, but as of today The Zim has failed to show...

An artist who has been constantly evolving throughout his lengthy career. Folk singer, protest singer, went electric, country singer, blues and roots music, even Sinatra type ballads. See him live one year and all his songs sound different almost unrecognisable from the last time you saw him

He was quite annoying from the first second
He was nothing like the actual person, who would have been quite interesting. The just turned him into some physcophathic narcissist, which he wasn't! But to be fair at the start they do say it's not a history lesson!

They didn't have to turn it into a jingoistic Guy Ritchie film though.

Think he's been that way ever since I first saw him at Blackbush, when he did reggae versions of his songs, which made them almost unrecognisable even if you knew his lyrics well -which both I & Grumpy Blue did.

Saw episode 4 of The London Bombings lat night on BBC2 last nightThis one concerned the fatal shooting of Robert,Charles de Menezes& its aftermath.Don't think there's any doubt that 3 Met firearms officers, shot & killed an innocent, unarmed man.Nobody was even charged at the time or since with the crime.Granted there were extenuating circumstanes but would have thought that the public expect better from their policeforce.

I expect less than nothing from our police force. And I am seldom disappointed.

I've finished Squid Game 2. I enjoyed it just as much as season 1, a slightly annoying ending point though, hopefully season 3 will be out at the end of this year and not another 3 year gap!

About 4 episodes in I gave up on the English dubbing (it started to get too distracting) and just flicked it over to Korean + English Subs.

I also finished Skeleton Crew this week, Disney Star Wars has been very meh to terrible of late so my expectations were pretty low, it was better than I expected but not great. Fair play that they kept it as a totally new and separate thing without relying on any cameos. Basically Space Goonies with Jude Law having a ball as a Jedi Jack Sparrow.

Saw the 3rd episode of The London Bombings last night. This one deals with the unlawful killing of Charles de Menezes at Stockton tube station..Hopfeully some of the issues it raises about the Met's Firearms' group will be dealt with in the final episode tonight on BBC2 tonight.
It is amazing how the police were able to lie about the circumstances of the shooting. And Tony Blair still supports them by trotting out the old, "but what if he was a terrorist" excuse. Well he wasn't and he'd done nothing to suggest he was.

Yet another shameful day in the history of the police.

Squid Game 3 should be with us in the autumn of this year.

Recently watched a couple of VG documentaries on BBC iPlayer:

Simon Schama’s History of us
Part 2 is especially good

Yeah I checked & saw Desire was ieleased in 1976 and Blood erc in 1975.Personally I'd say his last record Rough & Rowdy Ways (2020) was pretty good. He's still excellen live too-as his performance here at the Lyceo attested last year,

In real life he was a softly spoken man who didn’t like bad language, unfortunately the show has decided to portray him differently.
The show is awful.

The actors portraying the SAS look like they would be more at home fighting at The Cheltenham gold cup
