What have you watched on TV?

Anyone seen the first episode of the new Boardwalk Empire yet? Any good?

Loving the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, likewise Modern Family, although neither have *quite* hit the heights of previous seasons.

Going to give new Sky 1 show 'Spy' a try on Friday; I've heard good things about that.

We gave up with BWE about halfway through Series 1. We were watching it week by week and found it too slow to keep our interest. I've always wondered if i would have done that with The Wire? It's great being able to watch a few episodes back to back. We've started recording BWE Series 2 on Sky with the aim of watching the first series on DVD. It was excellent TV on one level, but I thought there was too much focus on Nucky and Mrs Annoying Shroeder... and not enough background or development of the more interesting characters and plots.

Keep us updated on the second series and how you find it!

BWE definitely worth sticking with and I am very much looking forward to getting stuck in to Season 2 but, like MK, it's a case of trying to find a baby(ies) free hour!

I know what you mean about it being very focused on Nucky and Kelly McDonald's crap Irish accent, but as S1 went on, there was much more on Jimmy and Nelson. I assume Al Capone will become a bigger feature in this season too.

The first episode of series 2 :raspberry: of BWE was pretty good IMO, and definitely worth sticking with.

BTW what happened to The Bor(e)gias?

Last episode was the weekend before last. Another series / season :winking: has been commissioned but I doubt that I'll bother.

I have seen it but I'm sure they didn't leave it on any sort of cliffhanger. Agree with you, I doubt if I'll bother if there's another series / season.

Missus watched Fresh Meat and gave her opinion that it'd gone rancid so I shan't be bothering anymore.

Boardwalk - apart from a high octane opening, it meandered it's way through, but still gripping. The FBI bloke is a scene stealer.

Jools Holland was great again - Feist, Bon Iver, some French bloke, old bloke on a piano, black girl with a guitar, but the scene stealer was Mastodon. Lets ROCK! :guitar:

Watched Holy Flying Circus on BBC4 last night, a drama about the controversy surrounding the release of Life of Brian in 1979. Really well done, great casting for Cleese & Palin and a good little cameo for Stephen Fry as that chap with the big white beard, oh bugger can't remember his name, you know the one, omnipotent, whathisname?

I've started The West Wing again. Absolutely amazing, I watched the first 4 series then dropped it due to uni and stuff, forgot how good it is.
