Question What are you reading?

The Sister Brothers - black comedy Western. Brilliant, but not as good as Skippy Dies which would have been book of the year but I read the Game of Thrones series.

Pico Iyer's The Man Within my Head.
That man being (at various times)Graham Greene, his father and himself.
An excellent read for all GG buffs and travel writing fans.

Just rounding off A Christmas Carol on my Kindle before returning to The Pickwick Papers, which I am halfway through and had to stop reading in order to start A Christmas Carol before it got too late! On a bit of a Dickens obssesion at the moment, love the Victorian London imagery....

This sounds good. When's it set? Whether it's comedy or drama, I like reading about/learning about/watching Western and Frontier America stuff.

Dresden Files, book the 14th.

Every new entry into this series provides more evidence that the author is absolutely crackers. His books are awesome, and this is no different.

Finally finished Murakami's 1Q84 just before Christmas, well worth the time as it was one of his best. Now reading The Fry Chronicles and after that I'll get stuck into Wiggo's My Time that I got for Xmas.

Bleak House is pretty good too

or, if Victorian history's your thing, and you fancy some non-fiction, try Robert K Massie's Dreadnought. It's targeted around the development of the Royal Navy, but gives a brilliant account of British, and German politics from the unification of Germany to the outbreak of WW1

Just started reading a "Reacher" book, The Affair by Lee Child. Book is ok, maybe 8/10 BUT how could anyone read the book and cast Tom Cruise as Reacher; Penelope CRUZ has more similarity and is taller.

Simon Jordans autobiography.

Halfway through. He doesnt have many good things to say about football people - mainly the greed, lies and lack of loyalty and honour he finds in football and how it seems to work completely the opposite of any other business.

Have you watched the DVD's? After reading the books I had to get them, wasnt disappointed.

I've seen the Hollywood version, which I really enjoyed, but haven't seen the Swedish originals. It took me a while to buy into it, but I can see what all the fuss is about now I'm 3/4 of the way through the story. I'm thinking of trying the Jo Nesbo series next, which by all accounts is comparable but better.
