Question What are you reading?

Just finished 'Much Obliged, Jeeves', a good read, alot of fun, brilliant dialogue. Now reading Roald Dahl's Charlie & the Chocolate Factory as a quick read whilst I wait for my copy of Jack kerouac's lost novel 'The Sea is my Brother' (published 3rd March) to arrive.

World Book Night

Did anyone get given any books?

Mrs DS was in Rayleigh at about 5pm when two people offered her a book for World Book Night, she was so happy about it they gave her a second one aswell.

So now we have 'Life of Pi' and 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' to read, then we have to pass them on.

At the moment I am reading Kurt Vonnegut's 'Cat's Cradle'.

Read 'em all. Curious Incident is absolutely brilliant.....

Currently reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro which I had by pay for

Just reading Issue Zero of The Blizzard, featuring amongst many others our very own Slipperduke.

I'd thoroughly recommend it, and Issue Zero is available on a pay-what-you-like basis so there's really no excuse. www.theblizzard.co.uk

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows having just finished The Half Blood Prince (which i only started Saturday)

True Grit by Hal Portis.Fascinating to see how both Hathaway in the 1969 original film and more recently the Cohen brothers both drew on the same source material but in vastly different ways.

"The Blind Side" was fascinating; as much about American society as American Football.

Now I'm reading "America's Game" by Michael MacCambridge (a history of American Football) whilst also dipping in and out of "Cyclopedia" by William Fotheringham.

America's Game was fascinating; not just about the game though, it made for an interesting read on American society in the 20th century.

Just started 'Solar' by Ian McEwen.
