Question What are you reading?

FM247 Radio Binfield by some bloke called Spooner or some such.

Actually it's the second time I've read it and it's pretty good, some great musical links.

Just finished Pulse by Julian Barnes. While I happen to think Martin Amis is a far better novelist, there's no doubt in my mind,(at least)that JB is by far the better short story writer. This is his 4th collection of short stories and there's some excellent stuff here.

When China Rules the World - Martin Jacques

Has anyone read anything by Niall Ferguson, in particular War of the World, I'm tempted but get the impression he's a used johnny.

Martin Jacques used to be the editor of Marxism Today IIRC.What's the book like?

Only just started it, but now you've pointed that out I'll be reading with a sense of cynicism. Its supposed to chart China's rise from the outbreak of Communism, and apparently blames the West (particlularly Europe) and its internal Wars for allowing it to happen.

I have been working nights so have had a lot of read time.

To kill a mocking bird by harper lee. Fantastic book although a little hard to follow the 1920's american slang

Lucky Man by micheal j fox. Truely a nice down to earth fella who delt with illness in the right way

Creed by james herbert . Im a big herbert fan but this one was not his best and a little predictable

Currently reading Faceless by Martina Cole . Really good read and the first book i have read of hers. Gritty sleazy and honest and im really enjoying it. One of many!

Agreed, a brilliant book.

Finished re-reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, just as brilliantly funny as ever, the imagination involved is just remarkable. Now reading my first ever PG Wodehouse, Jeeves & Wooster book - 'Much Obliged, Jeeves'.
