Question What are you reading?

Im currently reading (well am nearly finished) Russel Brand 'My Booky Wook 2'... basically, he's shagged lots of people... nonetheless, the style of writing is excellent.

Next on my list (or more apptly on my reading shelf) is Ben Collins - 'The Man in the White Suit'.

Discounting the fact that the man's a **** of the highest calliber, anyone who calls their book "My Booky Wook" and isn't 5 years old or younger deserves to be shot.

Question for the Book Types

How do I go about getting a first edition?

There's a new book coming out in March, and I'd really like to make sure I get a first edition of it. As it's new would all copies be first editions? Do i need to get in contact with the publisher direct? or is there somewhere else I should be looking?

Thanks in advance.

Confession by John Grisham - A brilliant book and very emotive. Lots of twists and turns as always from Grisham and the usual law angle. 9.5/10

Try Amazon. My new copy of Julian Barnes Pulse is a first edition.

Just recently finished The Book Thief which about a young German girl during the war, with the story narrated by Death.

Don't let that put you off, it was a very good book and was written in an unusual, but imaginative way.

Just read Rory McGrath's bearded tit, which was enjoyable. Also enjoyed a brass verdict by michael connolly. now reading frankie boyle's book - which is funny in places, and I didnt realise he used to compere at a club i used to frequent in edinburgh. obviously i dont remember him at all.

"The Blind Side" was fascinating; as much about American society as American Football.

Now I'm reading "America's Game" by Michael MacCambridge (a history of American Football) whilst also dipping in and out of "Cyclopedia" by William Fotheringham.

I've read this, really enjoyed the unique style of writing and polished it off very quickly.

Currently reading the third in the series of Conn Igguldon's Genghis Khan books. Excellent reads, all of them.

Just finished the second Chris Evans Autobigraphy, which was just as good a read as his first. 300+ pages read inside a week, which is some going for me!

I'm now a quarter of the way through Carlton Leach's Muscle, which has a lot of local interest, including the Rettendon/Essex Boys Murders. Very enjoyable (if this subject matter can be!) read & quite scarey how close you can get to people in these circles you can get. I've never knowingly seen the author, but from what I've read, I must have seen him on several occasions!

Currently reading "A Game of Thrones" after sterling online reviews. It's very different from most other fantasys.

Would recommend this book. Excellent read

Finally finished Visions of Cody by Kerouac. Worth reading if you're a fan, memories & stories about Neal Cassidy, it's a bit patchy but there's plenty of Jack's poetic style. The most interesting sections are transcriptions of taped conversations between Kerouac & Cassidy.

Looking forward to a couple of easier reads now, firstly my first Neil Gaiman book 'Stardust', then a short book about the essex coastline.
