Question What are you reading?

Solo - the James Bond novel. Loved it. Great addition to the oeuvre. 8/10
The Gun Machine by Warren Ellis - amazing characters, let down by bit of an anticlimax but a good read nonetheless 8/10

Now reading Innocence by Dean Koontz. Love Koontz - so many ideas.

Id put money the word Oeuvre was in that book.

Just picked up Hilary Mantel's excellent book of short stories, The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher.

Never read any of her stuff before.

"Rejoice,"...****ing rejoice." Sounds like good Xmas reading to me.

The Road Taken by Michael Buerk

Very interesting, this bloke has been everywhere. He was the first journo to report on the Ethiopian famine, very harrowing read, which inspired me to watch the BBC news item from the time, then the whole Band Aid thing.

You see these people reporting from all over the world but don't really appreciate the struggle they often have to get the story. Awesome book, would thoroughly recommend it.

Fabrice Muamba - I'm Still Standing.

Great story about how he arrived to the country from Congo and worked really hard to become a professional footballer. He is open and honest about the fact people wouldn't probably be reading this if he didn't die on the pitch. Amazing the care and attention to detail that went into his recovery from being 'dead' for 78 minutes. If you like football autobiographies this is a must. 9/10

Next - Gary Neville - RED

Just picked up The Invisible Committee's The Coming Insurrection.

French agit prop.Saw our daughter reading a copy when we went to visit her in Paris back in December.

Back in the 60's Guy Debord's situationist writings had a huge influence on the Angry Brigade.

Can't see TCI having much influence on anyone outside France, frankly.

Clothes Clothes CLothes Music Music Music Boys Boys Boys by Viv Albertine - brilliant stuff, a real page-turner. Biography of former guitarist in The Slits, which may not mean a thing to anyone under about forty-five, but it holds plenty of interest for any music fan.

Just finished 'Luis Suarez - Crossing the Line', his autobiography.

Some interesting insights into the whole Evra/racism events, and interesting reading about his background and how at Nacional, his first club, no one thought he was especially good when he first broke into the first team. Covered up to and including this summers World Cup, very revealing to see how close he was to not being fit to face England and the effects that that may still be having now. Was a bit disappointed in the end that there was no mention of the Barca move, I'm guessing he's planning on doing another book when he retires to try and cash out on the Liverpool fans.
