Sugar Cane Harris.Cup full of Dreams. The Violin in not normally an instrument you associate with the Blues but this is really an excellent re-issue, on CD for the first time.

Pretty(wierd and surrealistic) album covers and no link make it even more likely I'll stick to my opinion about ND.He's awful.:finger:

He wasn't awful. He was gifted, but bonkers. John Cale - who played piano on the beautiful 'Northern Sky' - said so. That's more than good enough for me. :Worthy:

In these troubled times maybe some gospel music is what we need.I'm not usually a fan of the genre but I'm prepared to make an exception for Mavis Staples.I'm reminded of a comment by Duke Ellington that Pop Staples and The Staples sisters sang gospel music in a blues key. That's good enough for me.

North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic volume 2.
Anyone who loves the NMA,RA Burnside etc will love this.Brillant country blues.

All The Young. New 4-piece band from Stoke. Have supported Morrisey, the Wombats (don't know why as they're quite different) and the Courteeners recently. Recording their first album at the moment. Epic, anthemic, British indie rock and roll. They're getting quite a lot of attention in the NME and the like, I hope they make it big. Can't wait to hear their whole album.
