Amazing how some songs can speak to us, eh mate? :winking:

But seriously, what a great song this is. I remember seeing him on TOTP back in '72 doing 'Heart Of Gold' and thinking how intense and deep this hairy man looked. BarnaBlue had 'Harvest' back at the old house so I'd get to hear this a fair bit. And The Beach Boys. And Dylan. And Canned Heat. And Creedence ...

The Kursaal Flyers - 'Little Does She Know'

... and talking of Barna's great record collection, he had this in it when the revolution started in late '76 ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZnQQF7ucdM ... little did we know that it would still sound so great after all this time. I'm pretty sure that Paul Shuttleworth (the uber-cool lead singer with a quiff to kill for) used to lived in Elmsleigh Drive whilst Graeme Douglas (the bearded guitarist with shades) used to be a Science teacher at Belfairs apparently. He joined up with Eddie & The Hot Rods a few months after this and co-wrote their big hit, 'Do Anything You Wanna Do.' The drummer Will Birch is better known as a music writer these days and I think The Big Shrimp knew one of the other guys in the band as well. This is a truly great record and this was a great performance on TOTP - check out those washing machines!

Dunno, on first listen it's a bit of a struggle. Fighting the urge to listen to something else - not very good on albums that aren't immediate.

It's a grower. The Deerhunter albums are really good, similar vibe but more rocky and immediate.
