Currently listening to Afrocubism,which as its name suggests, is an (excellent)fusion of African and Cuban music.Toumani Diabate in particular is oustanding.Fans of Buena Vista Social Club will (probably) know that this is the record that producer Nick Gold(who a good mate of mine knows from their days together in Sudan)always wanted to make with Ry Cooder.The African musicians they booked to play were refused a visa by the Cuban authorities and the rest was (cuban)history..

yeah it's dreadful news. The Noise Made by People was a bit of a landmark album for my musical tastes. RIP Trish, a beautiful woman, beautiful voice and a great band.
