I'm sure he did, Terry. Equally, is it not the case that some of the Stan fee was spent on building the South Stand (which presumably would not have been eligible to be paid for out of grants to go all-seater)?

Built? There's not much there! That does ring a bell, though... the Stan money probably bought B&L (i.e. the land).

It did, and 500K does ring a bell.

How much did Uncle Vic's lift cost, BTW?

I didn't. I said "not much".

As someone who sees a lot of big construction projects (as my day job), I'm pretty sure there is not £4.2m-worth of building at B&L...

And yes, I have been there (although not round all of the buildings, admittedly).

You don't half talk a load of old rubbish at times.

I think Graeme Jones was a free transfer (or at least I bloody well hope he was!!!!)... but I reckon he could still qualify when weighing up his ability and performances against the cost of the ink used for the signing of his contract, printer toner and paper .

I think we did pay money for Graeme Jones - the old "nominal fee" line was trotted out by Buzz...

Boots and Laces was already built - it was the old Access sports and social club, and Uncle Vic bought it as it is, simply changing the name as appropriate.

Good investment, IMHO, and is still under used.

Was that before or after he trotted out the line about Jones being a "20 goals a season man"...?

He is, just if a season is defined as 5 years long

I made a bet that Sunderland will stay in the Prem for three seasons - Winter, Spring and Autumn

Now you mention it...

Jones must surely be a contender... even if it was a fiver!
