Well this has cleared up one or two points for me, no umbongo and only 20k outstanding which suggests one months paye/ni. I feared a far larger amount especially if it was a vat bill o/s. Also I know our track record with hmrc is a tad on the slow side in paying but to issue a winding up order when a bill is 2 days overdue sounds like its something personal between Ron and hmrc to me:winking:

And on the back of issuing one against Martin Dawn a few days earlier.

Basically every time they draw down money from Sainsbury's to help with running costs of the club this reduces the total amount they are getting for RH and they don't like that very much. This is why things are picking up rapidly with the development..How it will make any difference to us when we move to FF and the Toblerone stadium with very few facilities is beyond me.

Right.
So what do we estimate the cost of RH to be?

Nothing we didn't know already.

No explanations as to why when we were meant to have no further issues this year we are again struggling to pay bills.

Nothing but "we hope" to begin the building.

The comment about the taxman is absurd. Pay the bills before they are due and stop complaining they are being heavy handed when we failed to pay them millions!

I am an employer and there is no way I would be even contacted, if I was 2 days late in paying them. To issue a winding up order 2 days after monies are due, if it's true, is ludicrous and can only assume we are only telling half the story or HMRC are getting their own back for comment made by Ron last time(s)...

I am afraid that we are being misled again. My informatin is that the club ARE under a transfer embargo and there ARE players who have still to be paid for January - the embargo will stay in place until the PFA have proof that these players have been paid and are up to date with their pay.

Does anyone have a contact at the PFA who could clarify our situation?

Don't want to shoot you down, but where do you get your information from?

... not even if you had built up a repution for serial default, sometimes for large amounts ? Ron and the club are paying the price for his "previous". There will be no leeway granted to him on anything. Would you?

Do you have a history of not paying them and owing them 2 million ?

If you did I think they would be far stricter with you, all they are doing is stopping the issue escalating and ensuring the club meet the commitments they made.

We confirmed in a court that we were a financially viable business to prevent us being wound up and yet we continue to fail to pay bills on time.

It is no surprise at all they are on our case.

Hasn't Smiffy emailed the PFA in the past? Or am I making that up?

To me the club has totally miosed the point, where we late- it is a straight yes/no question. I don't want to hear it was on;y £20,000, or it was only 2days --- we were late. That is the view the revenue have taken and WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED FOR THIS Why did we pay late, did we genuinely not have the money , was it incompetence, or did we deliberately pay late thinking' whatever its only a couple of days late'. All three scenarios ar bad for different reasons.

I guess that next month we will pay three days early , and then claim that over the last two months on average we are paying early- again smoke a mirrors !

No, somebody definitely did... Not sure if it was Smiffy or not. I'll fire an email now and see if I get a response.

I have emailed them before and have had a response- which basically said that they would confirm what the rules were, but not the actual position of any club, even if the info was in the public domain

No one has said that we paid late. The Club are saying that HMRC hit us with the Winding Up opetition after we were overdue by two days. I suspect that we haven't paid at all.

Why didn't we pay? We haven't got any money!

And we would prefer to pay the players on time, rather than pay the players late and pay HMRC on time, and now we can pay HMRC because we have money coming from Sainsbury again because we have had the Phased construction approved by the council!
Maybe Ron has learnt from last years mistakes re not paying the players.

That's how I see it anyway!

HMRC should be getting paid before anyone else. If that means that players and staff don't get paid then players and staff don't get paid. We can't keep ****ing around around with the taxman.

I did actually suggest that rather than get all this grief from HMRC why didn't Tara just pay it and get it back when the Sainsbury's money came in...He didn't like that idea very much either.

I'm not sure I agree, I don't know anymore. I am now going into break down mode.

Exactly... You pay the most threatening creditor first. HMRC have the ability to wind us up, so they get paid. Unfortunately, the PFA's ability cover wages means that players come quite low as a priority for a struggling football club.
