Having had some dealings with RM in a past life, I would quite safely say that there could be trust issues - I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him. However Tara is a different kettle of fish, I think. I dont know him, but I worked in the city for a long time. He has a good reputation and I have had a couple of face to face conversations with him, and to me he is the strong, tough and pretty ruthless businessman you would expect, and he appears to deliver the goods with integrity. I have no doubts that he will back PS to the hilt, and promotion is the price for the backing. I also have few doubts that Sturrock can deliver a promotion with the right squad in place... if this doesnt happen there is likely to be an unceremonial au revior to Mr Sturrock and a very P**d off TB!!
There is a bigger thing going on that is still bothering me, and what doesnt totally make sense is why TB is running the show and RM is still in the picture...??? I am guessing that there has been some kind of arrangement between the two that isnt public, and isnt likely to be made widely known unless there is a need for a plan b....
I would only be guessing but I would suggest that RM is there only on sufferance. The development of Fossett's and all the maze of various RM company holdings involved could be so intertwined that to take RM out of the equation at this stage would cause more delays to the development than it is worth to keep him in......
I have this feeling that RM got out of his depth playing with the big boys, Sainsbury, et al, and will end up picking up a tidy deal, for him, but small beer for the big boys and is therefore worth the nuisance value to the big players who will make the real money.
Just pray that at the end of it SUFC emerge with a viable future and robust business plan going forward; we could so easily still be tomorrows' Darlington, God forbid.
