Whilst I don't dispute Mohsni may be causing some friction and he officially has the worst disciplinary record this season (2 red & 9 yellow). Granty has 8 yellows with far less pitch time and Kane was hanging on by a thread within 5 minutes of coming on this week with 2 rash challenges. Bil has also scored 5 goals, played wherever asked & given the opposition a headache & when he has come off the bench the atmosphere in the ground rises with expectation. When I have looked at the bench recently I haven't seen the players that can give the lift.

Have to agree with all of this. The stats speak for themselves. Mohsni is a bit asset, no doubt and his disciplinary record isn't much worse than other team mates

In addition I remember this as if it was yesterday that some supporters were moaning at others because of the money being spent. Those questioning what Ronnie wqas doing were put down big time as the die hards claimed Jobson, Adams and Ronnie knew what they were doing. Just as well the so-called moaners spoke up as we tried mentioning to the powers that be if there any fall back measures to lean back on in case it went belly up and Adams replied that he could sense nothing going wrong. As it happened there was no plan b , it was an all out assault on the top flight and it went pear shaped. This is what I mean with today. If theres no contingency plan in place we might be knackered again for quite some time. Sorry if I'm moaning but I do think this is a valid point.

Why dont you ask these questions at the fans forum on 25th Jan mate?...

The difference between bilel and grant is that grant has earned his yellows through strong or/and mistimed challenges. The opposition only have wind mohsni up and he snaps most of the time and sees red meaning the team have to work so much harder with a player missing. Don't forget that whilst his record officially is not necessarily "head and shoulders" above others, lets not forget the post game incidents he's been involved in. I dont disagree that he's a good defender, but letting him play is like condoning his behaviour. How many chances are you prepared to give him? 5,6,7,10, 25? How long before other players lose their discipline and PS is slated for being unable to control his players.

For me, he's the best useless player at the club. And it's hardly an overreaction given his track record, not to
mention the trip to the shrink which was clearly a failure.

You're not moaning, and it is a valid point. We're on here because we follow the blues, and we want some reassurance that this all stacks up. Bearing in mind that I don't believe a thing Martin / Brady say, I can't see where we're going to get this reassurance from. UTB in the meantime.

If you've made your mind up that you won't believe a word that TB or RM say then you won't find reassurance. Brady has stated that promotion is a must and Sturrock is being backed in the transfer market which is self evident. Whether it all adds up and we go up remains to be seen.

Perhaps Luggy was on a 'if you're there or there abouts by xmas' then I will back a promotion push scenario?

I don't Believe Ron its true. Tara I'm open minded about. That said I hope his position in football hasn't gone to his head. After the debacles of the past you can't help wonder about these things in the back of your mind. Like those who Believed in Jobson and Adams back in the 90s came unstuck. No pleasure in that but then people demanded the club put in contingency plans and they didn't with smugness. All I'm saying is I hope Tara is getting it right genuinly and not in some underhand way. Time will tell I guess. Promotion then brilliant but no promotion and we're in dire straits all over again just as we were turning a corner. Enough said from me on this. I've stated my points and thank you for not mocking me in doing so. UTB

We are in the automatic promotion position half way through the season and we have strengthened the side early in the transfer window, We are doing everything to give us the best chance of going up.

Have faith.

Sturrock said that there was a small fee for Benyon and Timlin. And we took Martins contract on.

So - Timlin, say £50k - we were paying the wage anyway = £50k
Benyon - say £50k - substitute him for Daniels wage wise (I would GUESS) = £50k
Martin - £0 - substitute JJ + Martin will be on more (maybe this was in the form of a signing on fee to cover his Derby wage for the next 6 months vs a normal L2 wage) - say £75k

So I would guess that our business over the last few weeks has cost in the region of £175k, so moving on another player or two would certainly help before we bring in another

If undercover shrimper is right about a loan move in the offing for Alex Bruce, and as he is a Leeds not an Ipswich player then perhaps Grant is going to Leeds? Could be a six-month loan swap? Grant for Bruce - we pay continue to play Grant's wages, they pay Bruce's. On the other hand as the 'Bruce to Southend' was on that rumours site some days back perhaps its all just a wind up!

Plymouth fans tell me it was Luggy's business acuman mind that sunk them. Hope he's not overspending with us.

Surely it's the manager's job to work within the parameters set by the chairman/board? Past history does not exactly bode well for us in that respect of course but Luggy cannot be blamed for overspending if he has been permitted to do so by his board.

Having said all that, it is pretty clear that we are going for promotion. The transfer activity so far this window appears to be a real statement of intent that we intend to get out of this dreadful division. Let's hope the faith in Luggy is warranted...

Having had some dealings with RM in a past life, I would quite safely say that there could be trust issues - I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him. However Tara is a different kettle of fish, I think. I dont know him, but I worked in the city for a long time. He has a good reputation and I have had a couple of face to face conversations with him, and to me he is the strong, tough and pretty ruthless businessman you would expect, and he appears to deliver the goods with integrity. I have no doubts that he will back PS to the hilt, and promotion is the price for the backing. I also have few doubts that Sturrock can deliver a promotion with the right squad in place... if this doesnt happen there is likely to be an unceremonial au revior to Mr Sturrock and a very P**d off TB!!

There is a bigger thing going on that is still bothering me, and what doesnt totally make sense is why TB is running the show and RM is still in the picture...??? I am guessing that there has been some kind of arrangement between the two that isnt public, and isnt likely to be made widely known unless there is a need for a plan b....

I was always under the impression TB is due a slice of Fossetts Farm as payment for a long-standing debt from RM.
