One went to jail for lying to a police man and the other called someone a name? Seems like Timlin at least as much of a villain on paper if not more.

I notice you ignored my previous question, but please don't ignore this one. Do you really think racial abuse is no worse than name calling?

When put like that I don't disagree. My point was that I don't think any of the guys he plays with would care that he tried to get out of a driving ban, I think that some would care if their team mate used racist language though.

What about if they were convicted of armed robbery?

Surely, the point of a "justice system" is to dish out punishments for those who break the rules that our society has put in place.

Having served that punishment, the person is then allowed to have another crack at being a member of society. Or they become a Southend United fan and face punishment every year from August to May with June and July off to recover. End of.

yep, i'm all over that mate. easier said than done mind

Sure is.

Everton have released George Green, who was once dubbed the next Rooney. Was on loan at Tranmere last season where Micky Adams said he was a "little magician". Might be a bit unrealistic though.

Probably meant Mickey.

In the Echo this morning Brown confirmed he has had talks with a stiker and attacking midfielder. Both of which have been talking to other clubs so dont hold your breath.

Does dismiss this "why are we doing nothing" comments though.

But Brown knows he could well have to remain patient in his pursuit of the players.

“Contracts don’t run out until the end of June so sometimes players won’t sign until that time,” said the 56-year-old.

“Whether or not that’s going to happen here I’m not sure but it’s good that we’ve been able to talk to them.”

Sounds like they are out of contract at their old club, unless he is talking about other targets.

It goes without saying Mawson would be a huge coup but I'd be very surprised if he came here, if he goes to L1 it'll likely be to one of the bigger clubs with the bigger budgets.

How about Rory Donnelly (23) - signed by Swansea in 2012 after scoring a shed full for Cliftonville. Never really got a chance there, but scored 5 in 20 on loan at Tranmere this season.

I'd love to see PB giving this type of player a trial during the next month or so.

I think I'd be wanting more than a sub 10 goals a season striker as a target. Perhaps a loan period and see what happens, but would be disappointed if a player like this got signed outright.
