A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Actually, Simeon Akinola has not been given much chance to "move on the pitch" by PB and the manager comes across as determined to get rid of him although PB has conceded the player has conducted himself professionally and done nothing wrong in training.
Also clearly bailing him out based on his running when he clearly needed surgery is not one of PB's finest hours.

Having said that, he clearly doesn't want him and there's no point muddying the waters by giving him a squad number or talking him up in the press.

I'm not sure I recognise the Akinola of
some of the scathing assessments on here.

Just hope when he does eventually force him out he brings in better.

Will someone tell me how many shots Akinola had on target last season- and I mean with his feet - not the headed set pieces that he scored from?

The answer is 1 - that ridiculous penalty. He ran around a lot hardly getting in where it hurts - a bit like Rob Kiernan running away from everything pretending he was playing.

Well ive said it countless times when people talking about what we need, ithnk the last two matches show most of us that what i and many others have said is right ,seems only PB dosent see it, A CREATIVE MIDFIELDER.

In fairness, this was one of the harder fixtures we’ll have this season. Stockport seem to be much stronger away from home than at home. Wrexham and Notts County away are probably the other two hardest fixtures on paper.

And Dagenham I would say considering they battered Stockport last week and now scored 7 in two games

I love a challenge I hope we beat the other top teams I sense yesterday if we found that final third we would score

Unlikely to see Akinola in the first team any time soon, but I suppose one scenario would be the inevitable injuries for our strikers force PB to bring Sim on from the bench and he scores. PB then says something like "I knew that Sim needed to be pushed hard by me before he performed to my satisfaction. He's a proven goalscorer at this level and my astute man management has ensured that he will now be a regular for us."
It won’t happen, remember we can make signings outside of the transfer window. If we get bad injuries to the likes of Dalby or Murphy we will get someone in on loan.

Someone on Twitter saying we are looking at Omar Bugiel at Sutton and Tom Elliot at Salford.

I think we are still two quality additions short. An attacking midfielder and a striker.

Maybe even a left back or left sided centre half too.

I doubt the budget will allow for all 3 but I'd like to think we have another 2 signings in us.

Always thought we should be sniffing around Tom Elliot. Thing is he’s someone that needs decent service and crosses. But think he’d be a good option at this level.
